Tempted in the Tropics was a thoroughly satisfying follow up to March’s earlier The Practice Proposal–we even get to see that book’s hero and heroine, Cole and Liza, tie the knot! The fact that they do so at a tropical location is just sugar sprinkled on the top of the muffin…throw in a sassy baker and a dreamy doctor, and you’ve got a fun way to spend a less-than-tropical autumn evening.

We met Paige Ellerbee in Proposal–as Liza’s best friend, she helped her keep her sanity and gave her a much-needed nudge toward her HEA. Her bakery, Sweet Bee’s was the location of Liza and Cole’s televised pie bake-off, a scene guaranteed to make your mouth water. Now we see her in her home town, trying to keep her business–and her father’s barbershop–afloat in an uncertain economy and a town where the population isn’t getting any younger or any more populated. The one thing that might save her is her partnership with the local doctor.

Except that doctor is going out of town, and leaving his much younger, much hotter, and unfortunately, much more by-the-book nephew in charge of his practice.

Lane Anderson knows he has to keep his professional reputation squeaky clean. He’s trusted the wrong person before, and it nearly ruined his career. He can’t stop thinking about the feisty baker next door, though, even though she’s made her feelings about him perfectly clear. During a weekend at a tropical resort, however, things start to heat up….

This was a sweet story. I enjoyed the tension between Paige and Lane; the author did a nice job of showing just the right amount of heat without taking it too far. It was great seeing Liza and Cole again–even their pies came back for an encore! The proposal at the end just goes to prove that March really knows how to bring it with that romance staple. Loved it!

I can’t wait to see what’s up next for this series. Don’t forget to check out the Release Day Spotlight post–it has an awesome giveaway for you to enter!
