Books on Sale: Audible Joins the “Deal of the Day” Fun (because I clearly needed to spend MORE money on books….)

All part of their evil plot, I’m sure…

Audible is kicking off their brand new “Deal of the Day” promotion today, offering Life of Pi on audio for just $3.95. Just last night one of my Quilt Night friends said she’d seen the movie and loved it, so this just seems oddly fortuitous, doesn’t it?

She hasn’t read the book yet, but a colleague of hers did and said that they were very close. Has anyone else read it and seen the movie? What did you think?

In related news, Amazon’s Daily Deal has I am Number Four on sale for $2.99 ( and you can add audio for $6.99, darn you, Amazon). The Mini Moes and I all listened to it when it first came out (and both of them read the print version as well) and really enjoyed it…the movie version changed a lot, naturally, though they both still liked it. Anyway, Alex Pettyfer isn’t any hardship to watch, ever. The entire Lorein Legacies series has been really popular with my students–I’ve barely been able to keep them on the library shelves.
