I am thrilled to help celebrate the release of four new and fantastic Entangled titles! This week is a great week for paranormal romance and scifi romance lovers because we have new releases from N.J. Walters, Sasha Summers, Heather McCorkle, and Kalli Lanford!
About Drakon’s Prey by N.J. Walters:
Valeriya Azarov turned her back on the family business to write and illustrate children’s books. But with a sister who leads the Knights of the Dragons, it’s impossible to get away from the secret society whose mission is to destroy and enslave dragons. When information falls into her hands along with the opportunity to save at least one of the ancient creatures, she can’t turn away any longer.
When a woman moves into the cabin above Tarrant Cooper’s secret underground lair, he’s both suspicious and intrigued. He hasn’t lasted four thousand years being careless, so when he suspects her of being a part of the Knights, the plan is to kidnap her and find out how much the organization knows about him and his brothers.
He’s drawn to Valeriya, but trusting her could get him killed. Even if she’s a pawn in the war between drakons and Knights, giving her his heart would mean forever.
About Falling for the Billionaire Wolf and His Baby by Sasha Summers:
When Jessa Talbot’s boss offered her a promotion, she agreed—no questions asked. Her family needed the money, but fighting the attraction she feels for her brooding employer is tough. Worse, she instantly bonds with his infant son she’s caring for. But this is a temporary solution and she can’t get attached to either of them.
Finnegan Dean is cursed. He’s a nicely dressed monster, the wolf inside always looking for a way out. But there are two things he and his wolf agree on. They must protect baby Oscar and Jessa—his mate. While the wolf hungers to seal their bond, Finn fights the instinct. After all, if he really cares for her, he’d never doom her to the life he lives.
One night was all it took to change everything. One moment of weakness, and now I’m becoming. Werewolves were supposed to be things only seen in movies, not things that exist in real life. Instead of med school and homework, my life is filled with a laundry list of things that were once impossibilities. Groups fighting over whom I belong to. The possibility of dying if I don’t learn everything before the next full moon. Figuring out how to survive in a world I never knew existed. But the biggest danger? Ty: history professor, super sexy Viking werewolf, and the man who’s been assigned by the Council to teach me how to survive becoming a werewolf.
My father, the king, has condemned my friend Lestra to death for treason, and I’ve joined with her brother Slaine, the most beautiful male Enestian I’ve ever seen, to save her. Although even being seen with him is forbidden, for Lestra and the promise I made to my brother, I’m willing to take the risk. But time is short, and if we’re caught, we’ll be labeled traitors and executed.
To enlist help for our daring rescue, Slaine leads me into a dark, dangerous underworld where an uprising against the crown is brewing. And if the rebels discover I’m Princess Murelle, even Slaine’s status as a commander and vow to protect me with his life might not save me.
Hello. I’m author Jeff Strand. If you tolerated A Bad Day For Voodoo, were ambivalent toward I Have a Bad Feeling About This, and had little or no opinion regarding The Greatest Zombie Movie Ever, I’m pleased to announced that you’ll be equally unenthused about my latest YA novel, Stranger Things Have Happened.
It’s an extremely silly comedy about 15-year-old Marcus Millian III, who aspires to be a legendary magician like his great-grandfather, Zachary the Stupendous. The problem (well, the first problem of many) is that he suffers from paralyzing stage fright. That’s a bit of an issue when you want to be a stage magician.
Some stuff happens, and Marcus finds himself part of a bet between Grandpa Zachary and his arch-nemesis Bernard. Marcus has to invent and perform a ridiculously amazing illusion that will astound the audience at Bernard’s theater. Yeah, this is going to be a challenge, but at least he’s got Grandpa Zachary to help him. Until Grandpa Zachary dies in his sleep.
So now Marcus is on his own. Well, not entirely. He’s got his neighbor (and secret crush) Kimberly to help out, along with the very socially awkward and heavily bullied new kid, Peter, who has…secrets. Together they will work to create the ultimate illusion, one that may or may not involve making a shark disappear from a tank in front of a live audience.
Also, there’s a really evil guy named Sinister Seamus. Watch out for him.
Readers who are into magic (of the Penn & Teller variety, not Harry Potter) should enjoy this book because that’s kind of what the whole thing is about. Readers who are into books that are filled with silly (some might even say stupid) jokes should also enjoy it. It’s also about overcoming obstacles and following your dreams, if that’s the angle you want to play.
JEFF STRAND lives in Tampa, Florida. He is the author of A Bad Day for Voodoo, I Have a Bad Feeling About This, and The Greatest Zombie Movie Ever. Explore his website at jeffstrand.com.
Title:Stranger Things Have Happened Author: Jeff Strand Pub Date: April 4, 2017
You can’t always believe what you see in this hilarious coming of age novel from the author of The Greatest Zombie Movie Everand I Have a Bad Feeling About This
Harry Houdini. Penn and Teller. David Copperfield. Marcus Millian the Third.
Okay, so Marcus isn’t a famous magician. He may not even be a great magician. But his great-grandfather, the once-legendary and long-retired Zachary the Stupendous, insists Marcus has true talent. And when Grandpa Zachary boasts that he and Marcus are working on an illusion that will shock, stun, and astonish, Marcus wishes he could make himself disappear.
The problem? Marcus also has stage fright—in spades. It’s one thing to perform elaborate card tricks in front of his best friend, Kimberly, but it’s an entirely different feat to perform in front of an audience.
Then Grandpa Zachary dies in his sleep.
To uphold his great-grandfather’s honor, the show must go on. It would take a true sorcerer to pull off the trick Marcus has planned. But maybe he’s the next best thing…
“Marcus, do your magic. Turn this food into something edible—wait. No magician has that much talent.”
Marcus was with his family at a fund-raiser potluck for a local animal shelter. Since his retirement, Grandpa Zachary had focused his attention on raising money for charitable causes, although he had trouble sticking with any particular cause for very long. Last month he’d been saving the red-tailed hawk, which he later discovered was nowhere close to being an endangered species.
“I wouldn’t feed this slop to the dogs we’re trying to help,” said Grandpa Zachary.
“Shhhh,” Mom repeated.
“I’m speaking at a very low volume. The people who brought this vile gunk won’t hear.”
There were about fifty people in the park. Admission was five dollars. Plus you were supposed to bring your own dish of food to share. Grandpa Zachary didn’t generate a lot of money for his causes, but he did give most of his free time.
Grandpa Zachary dipped a pretzel stick into the translucent goo and popped it into his mouth. “Actually, that’s infinitely better than it looks. I withdraw my criticism.” He snapped off the end of his pretzel so he wouldn’t be accused of double dipping. (Grandpa Zachary hated double dippers.) Then he plunged the pretzel into the sludge again. “Marcus Three, do me a favor. Find me a paper bowl so we can take this home with us. It’s delicious.”
Marcus went off in search of a bowl, grabbing an oatmeal raisin cookie along the way. The band, which had arrived half an hour late, was finally set up and ready to perform. The lead singer was wearing sweatpants, a white hat, and nothing else. He had dark circles under his eyes and looked like his latest shower was a distant memory.
“Good evening, everybody,” the singer said into the microphone. He held onto the stand as if to keep himself upright. “We’re Banjo Dan and the Wham Zaps. We’ve been drinking since nine-thirty this morning. Enjoy the show.”
He plucked a few strings on his instrument, which Marcus was pretty sure was a ukulele and not a banjo.
“This is a benefit for an animal shelter, right? So here’s a little song we wrote called ‘Your Wife Is Uglier than a Dog’.”
“Nope, nope, nope, we won’t be hearing that,” said Grandpa Zachary, hurrying up to the stage. For an eighty-nine-year-old, the man could move.
Still, he wasn’t fast enough to get there before Banjo Dan passed out. The other two members of the band just stood there, staring awkwardly at their fallen leader.
“What other songs do you know?” Grandpa Zachary asked them.
“Uhhhh…we actually just stand here and pretend to play.”
“Begone!” cried Grandpa Zachary. “Take your snookered friend with you. Shame, shame, shame!”
The Wham Zaps dragged Banjo Dan away.
Grandpa Zachary picked up the microphone. “Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize for that crass spectacle. What a disgrace.” He shook his head and started to scan the audience. “But the show will go on. Let us amuse you with a different act.”
Marcus suddenly felt sick to his stomach. He began to sweat. It was hard to breathe. His feet hurt, even though he couldn’t explain why.
Grandpa Zachary’s gaze fell on him, and Marcus started to tremble. He loved to perform tricks for Kimberly. Loved to perform tricks for his great-grandfather. Loved to perform tricks for his parents. But he was terrified of performing in front of an audience. He’d never done it before.
It was a fear he knew he’d have to overcome to pursue his dream of being a famous magician, but he sure wasn’t over it yet.
Grandpa Zachary cleared his throat. “Ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together in a warm welcome for Marcus!”
Make Me Beg by Rebecca Brooks Men of Gold Mountain #2 Publication Date: March 20, 2017 Genres: Adult, Entangled: Brazen, Contemporary, Romance
Bartender Mackenzie Ellinsworth has always gone it alone. So when she has a chance to open her own bar and restaurant, she’s got a plan for how it should go. Not in that plan: a ripped and rugged playboy stepping in to take over. Mack doesn’t do players, and she doesn’t do one-night stands. If Connor wants to work with Mack, he’s going to have to keep his strong, sexy hands to himself.
Connor Branding is determined to prove he’s not the directionless playboy Mack thinks. But opening a place together causes more problems than it solves. The two of them can’t agree on anything—except how scorching hot their chemistry is. Connor may be ready to indulge every desire Mack’s been denying herself…but turning business into pleasure is likely to get him burned.
They listened to rain whip against the building, and the wind, and the strange stillness underneath it as darkness prickled their skin. Mack walked back toward the bar where it was warmer. She felt around in the darkness for the drawer where they kept candles for emergencies. Thankfully not everything had been cleared out for the renovation yet.
Because this definitely counted as an emergency. An emergency requiring not only light, but extra vodka.
Connor followed her to the bar, still texting.
“Better tell her you won’t be over any time soon,” Mack said as she dripped wax onto the bar to hold the candles upright.
“Good thing there’s always tomorrow.”
“You think she’ll actually wait around after the way you ditched her tonight?”
“I didn’t mean tomorrow has to be her.”
Mack gagged as she poured them both shots.
“Don’t be jealous,” Connor said, putting his phone away. “Just because you’re not getting any doesn’t mean the rest of us have to be celibate.”
“That’s not jealousy—it’s pity.” She stuck out her lower lip in a pretend pouty face. “I feel bad for you, sweetheart.”
He laughed, a big roaring sound that bounced off the empty walls and made the candles flicker.
“I’m serious,” she said. “Every time I turn around you’re going home with someone else. From the cheap seats, it looks like after one night with you, nobody wants to come back for more. Kinda starts to make a girl wonder.”
“Wow, Mack. That really stings. Guess I’m going to go reevaluate my life now.”
“If you need any pointers, I’m here to help.”
She was joking. Completely. She didn’t even mean it like that—she was just getting back at him for his obnoxious comments about her dating profile.
But Connor tipped his shot back, never taking his eyes off her. He’d been on the other side of the bar, but when he put his glass down he slowly stepped around so he was in the narrow workspace with her, invading what had always felt like her domain.
“What are you doing?”
“You think I’m a lousy lay?” His eyes flashed in the candlelight as though she could say whatever she wanted about his cooking, his crappy business plan, his inability to commit to anyone or anything that mattered—but how dare she insult his precious dick.
She raised an eyebrow with a calm she definitely didn’t feel. “I don’t know, Connor. Are you?”
Rebecca Brooks lives in New York City in an apartment filled with books. She received a PhD in English but decided it was more fun to write books than write about them. She has backpacked alone through India and Brazil, traveled by cargo boat down the Amazon River, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, explored ice caves in Peru, trekked to the source of the Ganges, and sunbathed in Burma, but she always likes coming home to a cold beer and her hot husband in the Bronx. Her books are about independent women who leave their old lives behind to try something new—and find the passion, excitement and purpose they didn’t know they’d been missing.
Meredith is a member of the American Wayfarer Pack.
The world is divided up among packs, but Meredith’s is different, mostly made up of Cazadores. When big bads start acting up—vampires, feys gone murderous, leprechauns running amuck—they fly in to save the day. That’s why Meredith is a super awesome fighter. She was trained by her herd of brothers—not to mention the rest of her pack—since she could walk.
Meredith’s pack was against her going to St. Ailbe’s Academy.
Annoying as it is, women in the packs don’t have a ton of independence. Especially in the Wayfarer pack. (Don’t worry. Tessa and Meredith are going to change all that. 😉 ) There are only a few women in the Wayfarer Pack. Meredith, her mother, and her nanny Ciara. Which is why Meredith wanted to get out so badly. But the Cazadores wanted to protect her. How could they do that if she wasn’t with them? And don’t get them started about Luciana cursing her… That would never have happened with them watching over her. But even with all the craziness, Meredith was glad she left. She made some amazing friends, learned a lot about other supernaturals, and most importantly, she never would have met Donovan if she hadn’t been at St. Ailbe’s. Who could regret that?
Meredith’s nanny, Ciara, is more like her mom than her bio mom.
Meredith and her mother have never seen eye to eye. So, when Ciara sought refuge with the Wayfarers from the Irish Pack, Meredith clung to her. Now that Meredith is going to be joining Donovan’s notoriously cliquish Irish Pack, she’s going to need Ciara more than ever.
For a while, Meredith thought about leaving the packs behind, going to a human college, and getting a job.
Sure, she was cursed to stay in her human for during that time. Since she couldn’t shift, she was basically human anyhow! Why not give it a shot? Seemed like a real chance at freedom from her overpowering pack. And when everything is going crazy, she still things about it. If she were human, what would she be doing? It’s nice to dream.
Meredith is obsessed with reality TV.
Having never been integrated with humans, she finds it unendingly fascinating. Especially Finding Bigfoot. But really, she’ll watch any of it. She also thinks the fact that E! cancelled The Soup to be one of the biggest tragedies of her lifetime so far. When she’s busy at school, she can’t keep up with it all. The Soup was her way to keep up to date with human pop culture in 30 minutes. If anyone can fix this crime against society, she’d been in their debt. And having a Were like Meredith on your side is a very good thing. So, any takers?

If you’ve never read a ttq novel before, you’re just on the cusp of getting your first introduction. I love glitz and glamour, but it’s not enough for me. My stories look behind the larger than life things that happen in life. They go deep into the messy part of living. The feelings that we all experience, but so often shy away from. The emotions that are confusing. Sometimes threatening. And yet…if we can find a safe place in which to explore them, we can often times find that elusive happiness we’ve been seeking.
The Lemonade Stand is Kacey’s safe place. I hope my books can be one of yours.
In Her Secret Life, Kacey and Michael had some things to tell me about looking good. I don’t know that any of us came up with any answers as to why our looks effect how we feel – is it just societal, or is it more than that, a sense of knowing that if we do our best to take care of ourselves, we perform better? But what helped me was to know that when the chips are down, surface beauty really is only skin deep. And that what is underneath is what we need, what turn to and what we draw from, even within ourselves, when challenges face us.
“Another great book revolving around volunteers at the Lemonade Stand women’s shelter in Santa Raquel. Many of you will recognize Kacey from her twin sister Lacey’s story a couple of books ago. It was great to get to see Lacey, Jem & Levi doing well! With this book, we have a story about two unlikely people to become the very best of friends … and how they adjust when the love they feel for their friend starts to turn into more.”
They say to write what you know. I’ve never been a soap opera star. I’ve never even knowingly met one. But when I wrote Her Secret Life, starring soap opera star, Kacey Hamilton, I knew a little bit about what I was getting into.
The women she helped—all victims of domestic violence—benefited from the gentle way she showed them how to enhance their outer beauty with fashion and makeup advice, makeovers and impromptu fashion shows. But they’d been surviving and healing for years without her.
In Her Secret Life Kacey had a blessed life. Her dreams came true and continue to come true. She’s got a job she loves and thrives on it. She loves her condo in Beverly Hills. But when her twin sister gets married, she finds out that the love she’s created for herself is lived largely on the surface. She has things. Ways to spend her time that she enjoys. And in the dark of the night, in the quiet times when her heart has a chance to speak to her, she is…alone.
As owner of MV Cyber Solutions, a successful-beyond-his-imaginings private IT investigative firm with clients in law enforcement—meaning they offered investigative work involving computers and the internet to law enforcement and lawyers—Mike was his own boss with trusted employees. And he could pretty much always squeeze an hour out of his day for Kacey.
He read the email warning her of something that had popped up on the internet over the weekend.
As has happened many times during my career, I found myself inside a book that was going places completely unexpected. All these emotions, from every member of a family…Different emotions. Intense emotions. And a young man who was taking every single one of them upon himself. Wow. I had no idea what was going to happen – where the book would go
“Sigh…Kacey and Michael–so, so good together! Even if it does take them forever to finally get there. . . . They were so clearly meant to be together, it was painful to read. Yet delicious at the same time.”
Where Secrets Are Safe, my current series with Superromance, is fiction. It’s entertainment. It’s larger than life. And yet…it’s also a voice. And a lesson plan. It revolves around a resort like women’s shelter set off the coast of California. The Lemonade Stand – Where Secrets Are Safe. The Stand is fiction. The characters and stories are pure ‘Hollywood.’ Many of the avenues for help and change are not. The laws are not. The love that heals, that gives hope for a future that includes real happiness, pure joy, is not.
“You are fooling yourself is you are NOT reading this series. It’s powerful, emotional, romantic and just so well written. Ms. Quinn tackles the subject matter with a deft hand and also, with compassion for the victims. Bring on the next one.”

I invited Isla to rent a room in my five thousand square foot home. Plenty of rooms and plenty of space. But the second she moved in, I knew I was in trouble. I could handle wanting her when there was distance between us, but once we started to play house, all my pent up desire started knocking down walls.
That was my first mistake of many.
The private investigator I hired to track down my ex found her not far from where I live. I should have locked my past behind me, but something urged me to find her. I’m glad I did. But our union left me with a situation to be reckoned with.
When a new fire is lit and old flames rekindle, one will have to burn out.
The decisions I’ll have to make won’t be easy.
No matter what I choose, my heart will break.
Since Isla moved in, I’d been eating better. Of course I gave in return by taking her out to eat. I wasn’t a selfish bastard, and I wasn’t about to take advantage of her. For a while, I suspected Isla had feelings for me, and I for her, but both of us kept the feeling locked away. I didn’t want to ruin our friendship if things went wrong. But I realized there was a great chance of something happening, even between friends, when you play house.
Isla and I often said things husbands and wives would say to each other: Goodnight, dear. Honey, I’m home. Love you. Don’t forget to pick up milk. The words flew naturally and we laughed it off, but deep in the recesses of my mind, I wondered what it could be like if we did date.
But … but … but … we had crossed the line. I might have started to cross over first, but Isla encouraged it. And damn, she felt and tasted amazing. Fuck! I was going to want more of her. Control yourself, Josh. I had been doing well so far. I just had to continue, especially since I had to find out if Shelly’s baby was mine. And if so, Isla may not want anything to do with me.
Regret rippled through me. I shouldn’t have kissed her, but when her bright green eyes filled with lust, and she lowered her gaze to my lips as she licked hers, I gave in to temptation. I’d forgotten about Shelly until it was over. Then reality flooded back. I had to get my life straightened out before I even attempted to have a relationship with Isla. She deserved the best of me, not the worst.
After I took a freezing shower, I got ready for bed and debated whether to say something to Isla. We’d agreed to pretend nothing happened, and if I didn’t say goodnight to her like I did every night, she would feel like shit. I knew I would. So I opened the door and shot my eyes open wide.
“Isla. I was just about to come see you.”
Her raised fist, ready to knock on the door, dropped while her eyes lingered on my bare chest. “Josh. I—I—you were about to come see me?” She smoothly changed the subject.
When I raked my hair back, her eyes landed on my biceps. Her longing-filled eyes had me so close to giving in to my desire and taking her in my room. Closing my eyes to contain my lust, I inhaled a deep breath to shut out my thoughts and my dick wanting what it shouldn’t. What I couldn’t have.
But shit, Isla. Did she have to look so damn hot in her night outfit—shorts and a T-shirt? She crossed her arms, to hide her nipples no doubt. But that didn’t stop me from envisioning the beautiful breasts I saw, touched, and tasted. Oh hell, I imagined my mouth on them as she stood before me. Her disheveled auburn hair—wild and full—contrasted with her face, looking innocent with no makeup.
I arched my eyebrows, loosening up, trying to get us back to the way we were. “Yes, I was, but why don’t you tell me why you’re here first?” I gave her my goofy grin—lips twisted, tongue slightly poking out, and eyes crossed.
She smacked my arm and let out a delicious, contagious laugh. When her laughter died, my heart died a little too because I couldn’t have her, at least not yet.
“I came to say goodnight. Since we’re starting over, I thought we keep things … you know … normal,” she said hesitantly, eyes darting to the door, to my bare chest again, swallowing, and then to her perfect, manicured feet.
“I’m glad you came.”
Her eyes shot to mine. “You are?”
“Of course I am. I was on my way to your room to say goodnight.”
“Oh. Okay. That’s good. Thanks. I mean. Goodnight.” She stumbled over her words.
Oh hell. I made it that way. She didn’t sound like my friend Isla, but rather a broken and confused Isla.
“Goodnight, honey.” I played along. “Do I get a hug?” I thought to ease the tension between us, but as soon as she wrapped her arms around me, I tightened with the tension of unfulfilled pleasure.
Isla’s touch burned through my skin, and her body molding to mine unraveled me. Her lavender shampoo filled my nostrils, and I wanted to take her to bed and make love to her all night. We stayed entangled longer than we should have, frozen in time and space. Then Isla pulled away, leaving me cold and empty.
Running her hands through her auburn locks, she didn’t notice she had exposed her T-shirt when she backed away. Oh fuck me! Her T-shirt framed her breast, teasing what I could no longer touch or taste. She gasped and crossed her arms again when my dirty eyes reminded her.
“Anyway. I’m going to see my brother tomorrow, and I’m going to spend the weekend with his family, so I’ll see you whenever.”
Why did that feel like a punch to my gut? It shouldn’t. She had done that two weekends before. “Sure. Have fun.”
“You got any plans?” Her long eyelashes fluttered, curious.
“I’m having dinner with Nathan tomorrow, but not much.”
She nodded and took several steps back. “Okay. Have a great weekend.” Then she turned and walked away.
“You too.” I stared at her fine ass and her long legs until she disappeared out of my sight. Inhaling a deep breath, I got back to bed with my laptop to distract me.

International Bestselling, Award-Winning, Author Mary Ting/M. Clarke resides in Southern California with her husband and two children. She enjoys oil painting and making jewelry. Writing her first novel, Crossroads Saga, happened by chance. It was a way to grieve the death of her beloved grandmother, and inspired by a dream she once had as a young girl. When she started reading new adult novels, she fell in love with the genre. It was the reason she had to write one-Something Great.
His first taste of freedom was only the beginning…
Thanks so much for agreeing to be with us today, Claire!
Thank you very much for inviting me! I am so excited about my new book and am thrilled that I get to visit you today.
What 5 things should readers know about you?
My stories are all fueled by coffee and Keith Urban songs.
I write really emotional stories and make my characters deal with big problems. They often have a very rocky road to finding love!
If I can put a cute animal or two into a story, it makes me very happy.
I have a degree in environmental studies, and sometimes those types of issues find their way into my stories.
I started writing western romance because I missed riding horses. And I love men in cowboy hats!
You had me at “Keith Urban” 🙂
Where did the inspiration for this book come from?
Well, it all started with an image. I had this picture, in my mind, of a couple standing in the woods in the snow, arguing over cattle!
I started thinking more about these characters. And I had an idea that the man was from a very troubled family. That he carried this extra burden of having been raised by a cruel, criminal father. I decided that this hero was named Wade Hoffman, that he had two brothers and one sister, and that his older brothers were criminals, just like his father.
That was the start of the Sierra Legacy series. Each book was developed as another piece of the legacy left by the family’s criminal past. I know that sounds depressing, but it’s actually a very hopeful series! I loved telling Wade Hoffman’s story in my recent book, Return to Marker Ranch.
My new book, Home Free, is the third book in the series. It’s about one of the older brothers, Arch Hoffman, who actually followed in his father’s criminal footsteps for the first part of his life. In Home Free, Arch has changed his ways, paid his dues, and is trying to start his life again as a much different, and better, person. It was such a wonderful book to write because Arch has to go on this enormous journey of self-discovery.
I can attest to it being a hopeful series—I really enjoyed Return to Maker Ranch! I love finding out how it came to be 🙂
How long have you been writing, and what (or who) inspired you to start?
I started writing my first book in 2005, because I was uninspired by my life and wanted an escape. In the very first scene I attempted, I fell in love with writing romance and knew it was something I wanted to pursue. I wrote about three quarters of a book, but then my career got very busy, so I stopped writing for years. In 2012, when I quit my career to stay home with my young son, I finally had a little extra time and energy to finish that book. I was very blessed that Harlequin offered me a contract, and A Ranch to Keep was released in 2014.
What are you working on right now? What can readers look for from you in the next year?
I have a free online read for Harlequin coming out at the end of December. It’s a short story called Refuge in the Sierras, about two of the secondary characters in the Sierra Legacy series. I had so much fun writing it and I’m very excited to share it with everyone. And did I mention that it will be free?
Then, in May 2017, His Last Rodeo, the fourth and final book in the Sierra Legacy series, will come out. It’s a fun story, a little different than the rest of the series, and it ties up some loose ends of the legacy that I really wanted to tie!
And after that? Well, I’ll be proposing a new series to my editor in the next few months, as well as working on a contemporary western self-published series, so I hope to have lots of books coming out in the next couple of years.
Awesome—can’t wait to read them all!
What are you currently reading, and what are your thoughts about it so far?
I often read books by authors I want to learn from, and right now I want to learn more about writing dialogue. So I have been reading lots of books by Marina Adair, a wonderful, witty romance writer who crafts fabulous dialogue. And I’m also reading books by Kristan Higgins, Jill Shalvis and Jennifer Cruisie, because they are all absolute masters of engaging dialogue, in my opinion. Fortunately, all of these books are totally fun to read, so I’ve given myself a very happy homework assignment!
I agree—that’s definitely the kind of homework I can get behind 100%!
If you had to “sell” your book in a single Tweet, what would you say?
Tweeting is hard! I agonize over smooshing my thoughts into that 140-character cage! But here is my attempt.
A man leaving prison meets a woman imprisoned by her own fears. Is their love strong enough to set them both free?
Thank you again for inviting me to visit your lovely blog today!
My pleasure! Thank you again for coming!

Skye Kimberly Loth
(The Dragon Kings, #4)
Publication date: October 19th 2016
Genres: Paranormal Romance, Young Adult
Rowan Winters is completely in love. With a shifter dragon.
But the drop-dead gorgeous Skye only thinks of Rowan as her best friend. But when she turns up in his room in the middle of the night in tears, he yearns to do whatever he can to help her. Even if that means running away and letting his family think he’s dead.
Skye’s entire world turns upside down the day her scales turns black. She knows she’ll have to flee to find answers. But she wasn’t planning on Rowan coming too. She just wanted to say goodbye. He is so eager to help that she can’t leave him behind even though she knows she’ll never be able to love him in return.
Together, they fight off murderous dragons and uncover sinister plans. But can they find the answers Skye so desperately seeks? And can Rowan sacrifice everything he knows to win her heart?
Skye was a coward. She knew that, but she couldn’t bring herself to stay and watch Sid and Aspen commit suicide. There was no way the council would allow Aspen to become queen.
Not to mention that then Skye would have to know the exact moment when she died, because anyone who pledged loyalty to Sid would die the second he did. No, running away was better. She should have enough time to get to her parents before death came. She’d able to say goodbye.
This was her fault. Pearl had told her to keep Aspen safe. Instead she’d gone and made everything worse. Maybe if she’d kept Aspen at home, Sid would’ve been fine.
If she’d never given Sid that damn loyalty seal, she wouldn’t be this close to death. She wasn’t sure what she was thinking at that time. Part of her thought he’d make it. Another part didn’t care whether she lived or died. It wasn’t like she’d have much of a life anymore.
When Sid became King she found Everett and begged him to remove the seal that marked how much she loved him. He did and now she longer had a swirl of gold on her ankle. But Everett warned her there would be a price to pay. She gladly paid it at the time, but but she hadn’t expected to feel so empty.
For a half second she thought about heading to Everett’s instead of her parents. Maybe he could remove the loyalty seal before she died. She shook her head. How cowardly of her. The price would not be worth it. That was for sure.
She was only fooling herself though. She would make the same decision if given the choice. Aspen was the only way they could possibly survive. When Skye dropped Aspen off , there were three possible outcomes. One, she and Sid would die and all those with loyalty seals would as well. Two, Helios, the final dragon that Sid needed to secure all the loyalty seals got to him before the council had a chance to killed him. Or three. Aspen could be become queen. She’d have to convince the council that she should be queen and pass the queen’s tests She hoped Aspen could do it.
She felt her wings tiring. This could be the beginning of her death. She hadn’t known anyone who had died because of the loyalty seal and didn’t know how it worked. She spotted a lake below her and decided to stop and get a drink. She had to make it home.
Skye landed a little rougher than normal. This had to be the end. She staggered over to the water and took a deep drink. The water sparkled under the full moon. Skye stretched her wings out and swiveled her neck around to scratch her nose. She froze. Her wing was no longer silver.
This must be part of her death. Or at least that was what she tried to convince herself of. Adrenaline coursed through her veins and she no longer felt tired. Dragons didn’t change color before they died. In fact dragons never changed color. Except when they became king. Then they turned black.
Skye spun neck around the other direction. It was more than her wings that had changed. Her whole body was now a deep coal black.
This was impossible. There was no way she could become king. Sid was king. Unless he died. Then someone else would take his place, but that someone had to be a full royal dragon and male. Of which she was neither. There had to be some huge mistake. This had to be a dream. She stuck her head in the cold water and came out again. Still black. This wasn’t possible.
That stupid prophecy.
The one that said three kings would rise. The one that said they could come from other races. But she was still female. Something was definitely wrong. She was also still very much alive. She couldn’t go see her parents now, not like this. No, she had to go see the one dragon who could explain how this happened.
She wracked her brain trying to think of everything she’d learned about the prophecy. She loved history and so she studied a lot, but this baffled her. Nothing in the prophecy said anything about a girl. She’d spent hours listening to Everett’s boring details about the prophecy, yet he hadn’t mentioned that females could become kings. He was so in for it.
Kimberly Loth can’t decide where she wants to settle down. She’s lived in Michigan, Illinois, Missouri, Utah, California, Oregon, and South Carolina.
She finally decided to make the leap and leave the U.S. behind for a few years. After living in Cairo, Egypt for 2 years, she’s decided to go to the Far East and currently calls Shenzhen, China home. She loves romantic movies, chocolate, roses, and crazy adventures.
Alexander’s Blood Bride
A Steamy, BBW Vampire Romance by Lorelei Moone Vampires of London, #1 Publication Date: October 13, 2016 Genres: Adult, Paranormal Romance, Vampires, Novella, Romance
Cat has never been a social butterfly. The only reason she even agreed to go to the stupid Halloween party was because her friend and room mate Shelly wanted to attend. When she gets spooked upon almost falling into bed with the host, she’s convinced it was all a big mistake. And what’s worse, now people are stalking her wherever she goes!
Alexander Broderick has been hosting his annual Halloween parties for over a century. While his contemporaries use them as an excuse to engage in all kinds of debauchery, his own motives are more benign. He wants to converse, to get a feel for the times they live in through its people. But when Cat walks into his house, he forgets himself and is compelled to seduce her. There’s only one problem: she’s a so-called Blood Bride – a mortal woman whose blood smells so delicious that every vampire in town wants to drain her.
He knows he’s the only one wanting to keep her safe, but can’t act as long as she wants nothing to do with him. And then there’s his own growing hunger to contend with. Can he protect her from the rest of the vampire community, as well as his own lethal cravings?
It’s the ultimate forbidden romance; the love between a mortal and a vampire. What is it that makes flirting with death so utterly tempting? Read on and find out.
Alexander Broderick stood at the top of the curving stairwell in the center of his Kensington residence, surveying his domain. The party had started at eight sharp, with more guests arriving every few minutes.
His Halloween parties were an age old tradition, even if their grandeur and scale had evolved significantly since the early days. A hundred years ago, he’d been content inviting a few friends and acquaintances, all of them vampire like he was. Now, every year, the event had grown bigger and better, featuring new faces from all walks of life.
Eternity was a very long time to spend in isolation. He craved the change in routine, no matter how hard his maker had tried to discourage him from going overboard in the past. Of course, ever since Julius had taken over the Council leadership, he had other things on his mind than to monitor Alexander’s social life.
Alexander thrived on the attention these parties afforded him. On a night such as tonight, he could step out of the shadows and into normality. Even if some guests noticed strange things around the house, they’d accept it as part of the magic of Halloween. It also helped that he kept the alcohol flowing generously throughout the night.
Tonight was the one night per year that the weird and wonderful became acceptable.
He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. So many people. So many aromas.
His parties weren’t an excuse to feed as such; no, he could do that any time. But the sheer variety of humankind at his feet was difficult to ignore.
Every vampire in attendance tonight would feel the same way. Alexander smiled as he imagined the depravity that would occur within these walls.
Sex, blood, and rock ‘n’ roll. Alexander couldn’t suppress a chuckle.
They’d keep things clean enough, of course. Everyone here was keen to stretch the rules but not break them. They wouldn’t take things so far as to attract suspicion.
They wouldn’t kill.
Alexander himself would join in the festivities as well. But first and foremost, he enjoyed playing host. He was especially fond of striking up conversations with first-time guests. First he’d figure out how they’d come by an invitation, then he’d guide the conversation toward other topics that interested him.
He was a connoisseur of sorts; like some immersed themselves in fine wines, politics, or even sports, Alexander collected knowledge on the human psyche. Zeitgeist, as some people called it; he loved to learn about that special set of thoughts and ideas that made society tick. In gathering information about how people lived their fleeting lives, he sought to find meaning for his own.
As he slowly started to walk down the stairs, he focused on acting normal; that meant being a lot more clunky and obvious in his movements than his instincts dictated.
He was socializing, not stalking prey!
That was one of the first lessons he’d learned once he started inviting humans to his get-togethers. If you approached them in too stealthy a fashion, they easily got spooked.
Halfway down, his friend Michael nodded a greeting as he passed him by. The much younger vampire wasn’t one to waste time; he’d already found himself two willing females to spend what he liked to call ‘quality time.’ Everyone had certain talents; seduction was his.
Alexander was about to continue down the steps when a presence caught him off guard. He wasn’t sure what it was exactly. A quick scan around the room revealed that all the guests were quite busy entertaining themselves; nobody was looking in his direction.
He sprinted back up the stairs, faster than a human eye could see, and gazed back down to figure out what had affected him so.
The front door swung open and two women entered. One was quite ordinary, and he could hardly tell her apart from the two Michael had just led upstairs. The other, though…
A radiant sight of womanhood.
Her floor length gown was very different from the skimpy outfits everyone else had chosen to wear. Blood red—which in itself would have been enough to entice even the most reclusive vampire among his company.
Raven hair halfway down her shoulder, which swayed with every step she took.
A face flawless, like that of a porcelain doll.
And curves. Her body exuded a richness that made every fiber in his body ache for her.
