Today I’m thrilled to have Violette Dubrinsky here, the author of The Dragon. Violette, welcome!

Hi there. Thank you for having me.

 

Tell us more about your book—take us beyond the official “book blurb”.

The Dragon is the sequel  to The Masseuse and It continues a mystery-suspense thriller about the potential head of a South Korean mafia gang and his lovely lady, a straight laced and borderline neurotic CEO. At the end of The Masseuse, Ramsey’s niece was run over, and now, in The Dragon, he’s searching for answers in a way that is very effective.

Give us more info about your main characters—who are they? What one thing would they need to have with them if stranded on a desert island?

My main characters are Ramsey Stone and Jezebel Carter. They are both business people, however, Ramsey has ties to the South Korean mafia…in that he may just be the head of one of the gangs.

If Ramsey was stranded on a desert island, he’d need his gun or at very least, a knife.

If Jezebel was stranded on a desert island, she’d ask for wifi so she could check her company’s stock.

I’m with Jezebel with the wifi. I can’t believe we used to get along just fine without it–seems impossible now!

 

What scene in your book was the most fun to write, and why?

The scene that was the most fun to write has to be the scene with Jezebel, a pickle, and Ramsey’s seduction after Jezebel returns home from the hospital. It’s a sexy scene, but it’s also cute and funny because something as simple as eating a pickle gets turned into something sexy.

I am definitely intrigued!

 

How long have you been writing, and what (or who) inspired you to start?

I’ve been writing for years. I must have started seriously writing in 2003 but I officially put my work into the public platform in 2006, I believe.

 

What do you like best about being a writer?

I like creating the types of stories I want to read.

That’s the secret! Wasn’t it Toni Morrison who said, ““If there’s a book that you want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it”?

 

What is the most challenging part of being a writer?

The most challenging part of being a writer is finding the time to write given your schedule.

I’ll second that!

 

What are you working on right now? What can readers look for from you in the next year?

Currently, I’m working on the sequel to Taken by Moonlight. Readers can look forward to that sequel as well as perhaps, a followup to The Dragon.

What authors and/or books have inspired you?

I am inspired by so many authors. I look up to many writers like J.R. Ward, Lora Leigh, Sienna Mynx, Billy London, and so many others. I love original prose with unique storylines and humorous characters who love each other.

 

What are you currently reading? What are your thoughts about it so far?

I am currently reading one of Cherise Sinclair’s Shadowland’s books. It’s the last book in a 7 part continuing series, and I’ve read most, if not all already, so I’m enjoying it. 🙂

 

Please share a favorite scene from one of your books with our readers.

Vivienne’s bag fell to the ground and although the sound was loud enough to jar a slight ounce of common sense back into her, she was past listening. She rocked against him, both shocked and enthralled at the hardness that pushed into her belly. His hand slipped underneath her shirt and she gasped, pulling her lips away from his and placing restraining hands against his jacket.

She wasn’t one of those girls, the girls who made out with their boss’s hot, rich client in an elevator, and she wasn’t one to make out with strangers in a club, either. Vivienne Bordeaux did not do things like this…until him.

A wolfish smile touched his lips, and although alarm crept up her spine, her body seemed to melt even more. Before she knew what he was doing, a hand was at her shoulder and she was being pushed backward, up against the elevator wall. He continued to advance until his body was once more tightly pressed against hers, her breasts locked to his hard chest, his strong legs against hers.

Jezebel slumped forward, bracing her weight against the hands that rested on his chest. She felt tired, drained, as if there was a boulder on her shoulders and she was unable to get it down.

Ramsey released her hands, but before she could process it, he pulled her against his body. With her face against his shirt, she could smell the citrusy maleness he exuded, and though she despised herself for it, it soothed her. She closed her eyes, blotted him out, and took the comfort. He could have been a stranger, she told herself. She just needed someone to hold her up right now. When familiar fingers slid into her hair, and began to massage her scalp, she sighed and let him.

Jezebel didn’t know how long he held her, how long she allowed him to comfort her, but she did remember when it ended. She was fully leaning on him, his fingers stroking her scalp, when his lips pressed to her ear.

“I’m many things, Jezebel,” he whispered. “But most of all, I’m a man who protects his family.” She’d pulled back to look into his face. What she saw sent a shiver down her spine. With cold eyes and determination etched into every crevice of his face, he continued, “There’s nothing I wouldn’t do to keep you and my child safe. Nothing.”
