Michelle Sharp, Author of TAMED BY THE OUTLAW, Talks About Writing YOUR Book

Michelle’s new book, TAMED BY THE OUTLAW, is reviewed here, and spotlighted along with Brooklyn Skye’s JUST ONE REASON. Don’t miss it!

Tamed by the Outlaw and Just One Reason

Write that book and set it free!

Hi, and thank you for having me on your blog today. My name is Michelle Sharp, and I am the author of the new Entangled Lovestruck Novella entitled Tamed by the Outlaw. One of the questions I was asked is how it felt to write Outlaw and then put it out there for everyone to read.

Tamed by the Outlaw is my second release. I have two more books releasing in the next couple months, and my biggest take away from the whole process is that writing a book is a lesson in persistence, patience, and pure love of writing. Often it’s not days or weeks you’re investing, but months and sometimes even years to write a manuscript. When you finally make it through to the final round of editing, get a book cover, and see your work go up on retailer sites for purchase—there’s pretty much nothing like it.

Well okay, maybe the birth of a child is still a bit more exciting. But releasing a book, especially your first one, isn’t that distant of a second. And some of the emotions are not all that different. Both can be exciting and magical. Both feel like you’ve taken a piece of yourself and put it out there for the whole world to see. And like having a baby, you want everyone to think your child is the most beautiful, intelligent creature ever created.

Unfortunately, someone is always going to say, “Did you see the ears on that kid? Holy Moly.”

The world is not perfect. Bad stuff is out there. Critics are out there. But just like the moment you realize not every person in the world adores and worships your child, you get used to the idea that your book may not be for everyone. It doesn’t have to be. No novel, story, movie, painting or person ever is.

So what does it feel like to write a book and let it go? Kind of like I imagine it will feel like to take my oldest son to his first year in college. Which incidentally happens the same week Tamed by the Outlaw releases.

I will hope for great success as all the little parts of me enter into a new scary world. I will know I did the best I could to produce something everyone likes. And… I suppose…love them regardless of how much money they eventually make. LOL.

About the author:Michelle Sharp

Award-winning author Michelle Sharp has been nominated for a 2014 National Readers Choice Award for Best Romantic Suspense and Best First Book. In addition, her debut novel Dream Huntress has been selected as a finalist in the 2015 Daphne Du Maurier award for Excellence in Mystery and Suspense.

Although she has a degree in Journalism from Southern Illinois University, she finds weaving tales of danger, deception, and love much preferable to reporting the cold, hard facts. Her goal in life? To team resilient, kickass heroines with the sexy Alpha’s who love them.

As most authors probably are, she is an avid reader. Growing up in St. Louis has made her a die-hard Cardinals fan, and having a child with Down Syndrome has made her passionate about all issues regarding special needs kiddos. She’s also a proud member of Romance Writers of America and Missouri Romance Writers. You can learn more about her at michelleshapbooks.com, where you will also find links to her social media.
