The chase is on in award-winning author Amanda Forester’s brand-new Regency romance series!

A sizzling scandal just waiting to happen…

Orphaned at a young age, Lady Katherine Ashton and her brother have spent most of their lives on the high seas, seeking to restore their family fortune through somewhat dubious means. After that kind of adventure, Kate knows she won’t ever be accepted as a proper society lady.

To the annoyingly clever, temptingly handsome, and altogether troublesome Earl of Wynbrook, society ladies are a dead bore. Kate, on the other hand, is scandalous, alluring, and altogether fascinating. And Kate can’t decide which she relishes more, the thrill of chasing fearsome pirates, or having Wynbrook chase after her…

Review:

So fun! I really enjoyed the author’s witty and humorous writing style, and the romance had just the right amount of danger and drama to balance it out. How is it I’ve never read anything from her before? (Two words: BACKLIST and TBR.)

I adored Kate’s character. She and her twin, Robert, have had such a tough time in life–and very nearly everything they’ve done, they did for themselves. At the beginning of the book, they’re both so stiff and serious, unused to society and ugh–just reading about their plain, austere clothing made me cringe! It was wonderful watching Kate come out of her shell (with a whole lot of help from the Arlingtons…especially John).

And John, Earl of Wynbrook? (swoon!) I loved him as a hero. He was just as prickly in his own way in the beginning (their history had some questionable moments) but once he got close to Kate and found out the reasons behind her and Robert’s somewhat dubious qualities? OMG, he could not have been a better guy. All the things that she was afraid to tell him, the things that she kept hidden? He had the absolute perfect responses to them all. I just wanted to hug them both.

Except I wouldn’t. Because Kate keeps a knife strapped to her leg.

I loved their romance, and trying to figure out the drama of their past was a lot of fun. Some of the side romances were almost too easily accomplished, though they were still cute. And I am definitely looking forward to finding out the story behind Robert’s surprising arrival on the last page!

Book 2 will be out…when? 😉
