Launch – Note from the Author

Ever since sharing some of Tex’s story in my last Love Inspired Historical book about his twin brother Tate, I’ve eagerly anticipated the chance for readers to get to know Tex better—through his own story this time. A legendary, charismatic outlaw, Tex was a fun and complex character to write. So, too, was his reunion with the girl he left behind eight years ago Ravena Reid.

Hearts & Scribbles – Character Descriptions

An identical twin, Tex looks just like his brother Tate with their matching blue eyes and brown hair, but their similarities end there. Tex is charming, fun-loving, and never in one place for long. But when he realizes Ravena needs help with her farm, he offers to stay and help, if only to atone for leaving her behind years ago. In the process, he comes to face-to-face with his past, his mistakes, and his long buried faith. Before long he’ll have to make the toughest decision of his life—to stop running or not from everyone, including himself.

Christian Suspense Author Mary Alford – Review

“This story was such an amazing journey for me. Filled with rich characters, precious children, a wounded past, and best of all…forgiveness and a second chance at love.

THE RENEGADE’S REDEMPTION was impossible to put down. I read the entire book in one sitting, it’s that good. ”

Heidi Reads… – Review

“I loved the various personalities of the orphans that Ravena cares for and how it shows her compassionate nature. She struggles with her long-held feelings for Tex and forgiveness of others and self is a big theme in the story. There is some action as Tex’s outlaw background catches up with him but I appreciated that he came to terms with it of his own volition before he was forced to by circumstances. Lovely romance between a stalwart young woman and a charming rogue!”

I Am A Reader – Excerpt

“Ravena,” Tex called as she reached the door.

She blew out a sigh and turned to face him. “Yes?”

“Thank you for this. But you said one night and I won’t stay longer than that.”

Gripping the edges of the tray until they dug into her palms, she willed the words she wanted to say to reach her lips. Yes, Tex, you have to leave. I have enough concerns right now, without worrying about you and the fragileness of my heart.

Sylv.net – An Old Flame

Can past hurts be overcome and forgiven in order to have a second chance at love? In my newest Love Inspired Historical book, that’s what Tex Beckett and Ravena Reid must decide.

Tex and Ravena grew up together on neighboring farms in Idaho. They were inseparable friends, though Tex’s twin brother Tate often tagged along with them. As they grew older, Tex and Ravena realized their friendship had developed into something more. Though different in temperament—Ravena is far more serious, and Tex is fun-loving and eager for adventure—they complemented each other and shared a deep love.

Rockin’ Book Reviews – Review

“This Historical fiction is full of action, suspense, drama and romance. The reader will be unsure of the ending until the last pages. The characters are defined well and the reader feels very endeared to them. The background scenes are portrayed well. The story steadily flows smoothly until the very end. The reader’s interest is held throughout the tale.”

Reading Is My SuperPower – Review

“Vivid characters with lots of personality join forces with swoony romance, adorable children, and a heartfelt message of redemption and restoration. Stacy Henrie is skilled at knowing the right combination of each of those elements to achieve a ‘just right’ balance and a smooth story. If you’re a fan of stories set in the late 1800s West then you need to definitely make time to read Stacy Henrie’s books as well!'”

Singing Librarian Books – Review

“Stacy Henrie has done it again! Her novel Renegade’s Redemption is simply splendid!! This western romance is filled with plenty of adventure and romance that readers will not want to miss. In addition there are themes of inspiration, forgiveness, and redemption that will tug at the heartstrings of readers. . . . This sweet historical romance novel is a fantastic sequel to The Outlaw’s Secret that readers will adore.”

Katie’s Clean Book Collection – Review

“I enjoyed the gentle chemistry between these two and the way they each worked through trust issues. I love the descriptions of their every day lives and the way the past and present fit together. There are many things to be resolved and through journeys of self-discovery and responsibility, a satisfying conclusion resulted.”

Mel’s Shelves – Review

” I devoured it quickly and love the way it all came together! I love Stacy Henrie’s writing style and she is quickly becoming a favorite author! If you enjoy clean historical romance, you will want to read both of these books!”

Getting Your Read On – Review

“Tex and Ravena were great characters. The book flowed gently and easily, weaving in daily life events with the rekindling of friendship and love. The children in this book were a fantastic addition and really gave the story a feeling of family and love.”

Wishful Endings – Excerpt

For one moment, Tex knew the familiar thrill of a clean escape. Then the sheriff shot at him again. This time the bullet found purchase. It struck Tex in his right side, and his body jerked hard to the left in reflexive response. He clung to the horse with trembling arms to keep from falling as searing fire registered through his shock.

Paulette’s Papers – Five Fun Facts about The Renegade’s Redemption

1. The final scenes of this book take place on Independence Day. And while I knew the release date for the book was in July 2017, I didn’t pay much attention to which day. So it was serendipitous and lots of fun when I realized it was releasing on Independence Day.

The Power of Words – Review

“The road for this unlikely pair seemed impossible, and I loved how everything was resolved. . . . I enjoyed The Renegade’s Redemption very much and look forward to much more from Stacy Henrie.”

Tell Tale Book Reviews – Review

“The Renegade’s Redemption is a sweet historical romance with strong themes of forgiveness and trusting in God. The story begins and pretty much ends with a bang, and the pages in between are sure to keep readers anxiously turning them to find out what happens with Tex, Ravena, and the orphans.”

Cafinated Reads – Review

“This is a truly wonderful story of seeking one’s faith, relying on God, forgiveness and redemption. Ms. Hernie will steal you away with this book and leave you wanting more instantly! This 5 star book is the second in a series, and while I wasn’t confused and it could be easily read as a stand alone, I do plan to go back and read book 1 and see where it all began with Tex. Hats off to this talented author who is now on my favorites list!!”

99-Cent Sale Blitz! LOVE FOR ALL SEASONS by Stacy Henrie

BOOK SUMMARY:

If you like the inspirational historical romances of Deanne Gist and Lauraine Snelling, you’ll love USA Today bestselling author Stacy Henrie! With four novellas—one for each season of the year—you’ll find a heartwarming collection of couples from a simpler time in America who discover the redeeming powers of faith and love.

A Long Winter Kiss

As Samantha and Rex’s childhood friendship matured into young love, they promised their hearts to one another, even as Rex headed off to war. But their hope for a bright future was shattered when Rex succumbed to his belief that the horrors of war had made him a man no woman could love. Now he has returned, and Samantha must help Rex see that he still has much to give—and much more to gain—by replacing fear with faith and opening himself to love.

An Unlikely Spring Courtship

Tempest worked hard to secure her independence as a woman running her own mercantile, so when Bram has the audacity to open a competing shop in a town with only enough room for one, Tempest is driven to despair. And then to retaliation. But when tragedy strikes their community and threatens everything they both hold dear, will they be able to recognize that what they share is far more important than what separates them?

A Summer for Love

Loralee’s life has changed dramatically in the eight years since she’s last seen the resort town of Bayocean, but one thing that has never changed is her feelings for Wyatt, a man she promised to meet at the resort on a specific day if they were both still unattached. When Wyatt appears on that date, as hopeful and uncertain as Loralee, the two must see if an old and abiding love has outlasted the changes wrought by time—and begin to build a new life together.

Romance in Autumn

Phoebe and James grew up together but apart in the same beautiful mansion, he as the son of the owners, she as the daughter of a servant. In the years since, Phoebe’s fortunes have changed dramatically, and she carries the dream of one day owning the mansion that is still close to her heart. Until James—now a deeply compelling man—delivers the bad news that securing the purchase will be all but impossible. As Phoebe reluctantly relinquishes her dream, she will also look deep into her soul to learn that a true home might exist in her budding love for James.

Welcome, Shelley! What 5 things should readers know about you?

  • I like to write! To date, I’ve published over 60 books.
  • I like dachshunds!
  • Though I write about the Amish, I’m not Amish. However, I do know quite a few Amish ladies and they’ve helped me with the research over the years.
  • I like to travel! My husband and I love to go on cruises and travel in Europe. Sometimes I think I work so hard so I can go on another vacation. <g>
  • I grew up in Texas, and that state still has my heart.

I hear you about #5. My daughter was born in Texas—we had to move when she was just under 6 months old—but she is totally enamored with the state and wants to go back. There’s just something about it!

Where did the inspiration for this book come from?

There is a lumber mill in Charm, Ohio that employs over 400 men and women from the surrounding areas. Seventy percent of the workers are Amish. I wanted to write a series where a family-owned mill was a focal point of a community. Of course, I fictionalized it. The first book, A Son’s Vow, takes place 99 days after a tragedy happens in the mill. For this book, A Daughter’s Dream, I wanted to focus on a woman who isn’t sure she wants to accept her family’s legacy.

Great inspiration! I love that the mill is based on a real place.

How long have you been writing, and what (or who) inspired you to start?

I started writing in 1999 and sold my first novel in 2001. I started writing romances because I like to read romances. I started writing inspirational romances when I felt the need to add another, more serious thread to my romances.

Awesome!

What do you like best about being a writer? What is the most challenging part?

I love the whole process of writing. I actually love working with the team at my publisher, even all the revisions and edits. I feel like I am part of a great group of people who want to produce novels that we can all be proud of. The most challenging part for me is making all the deadlines that are a part of this process.

I can absolutely see how the deadlines could be the most challenging part. It must be almost like school, in a way…

What are you working on right now? What can readers look for from you in the next year?

I’m currently working on next year’s Amish series, which is set in Kentucky. It’s called the Amish of Hart County series. I’m also in the middle of writing a series of historical westerns that take place in Texas right after the Civil War. The first book in that series is called The Loyal Heart.

Oooh! You had me at “Civil War”! No book for Amelia, then? 🙁

What authors and/or books have inspired you?

Lots of authors and books have inspired me. I read a lot, and read across all genres. Writers who can immediately capture my attention and make me only want to finish that book inspire me!

Sounds good!

If you had to “sell” this book in a single Tweet, what would you say?

Some dreams are worth everything. #AmishLove   : )

Rebecca Kinsinger has always dreamed of being a teacher. But when she’s given the opportunity she’s been waiting for at Charm Amish School, she’s dismayed to discover that teaching is hard work—work she’s afraid she’s not very good at.
That is, until Lilly Yoder joins the class. A thirteen-year old who’s just lost her parents, Lilly is in need of someone like Rebecca. For the first time since starting her new job, Rebecca feels a sense of purpose. But when she meets Lilly’s uncle, Jacob, his good looks and sweet, easy-going temperament are hard to ignore. Such a sweet romance!

I really enjoyed my trip back to Charm, Ohio (though if it’s your first visit, no worries–it would work okay as a standalone too) and seeing Lukas and Darla and their respective siblings again. I was intrigued by Rebecca in book one and wanted to see her story. There just aren’t enough romance heroines named Becky, IMHO. 😉

A Daughter’s Dream is all about figuring out what you’re meant to do with your life…and with whom. Several stories are interwoven with that of our main couple’s, Becky Kinsinger and Jacob Yoder.

Becky and brand-new-to-Charm Jacob are all kinds of adorable together–but first they have to find the work that God has prepared them to do. At the start of the novel, Becky’s sure that teaching is her true calling, but spending just part of a day as a substitute teacher has her questioning her ability (not surprising, because subbing is so not a fun job. I speak from experience here. It really is different when you’re in your own classroom vs subbing in someone else’s–but I digress). Jacob found fulfilling work in Florida as a carpenter, but has had to move back to Ohio and in with his parents in order to take over guardianship of his newly-orphaned 13-year-old niece. Jacob decides to give up carpentry to help his father farm the family land, but is it the right decision for him?

Jacob’s niece Lilly is grieving–but that’s not the real reason why she appears to not love school as much as she did in the past. Rachel, Charm’s schoolteacher, is determined to find out what’s behind Lilly’s apathy and change it for the better. Meanwhile, Lilly’s having some trouble fitting in at her new school, though she has attracted the attention of one unexpected individual. Rachel’s dealing with her own problems–she’s had some wonderful news, but it leads to unexpected conflict with her husband, Marcus. Finally, Becky and Lukas’s younger sister might have a suitor–or will Becky’s involvement end things before they even begin?

Everything is resolved nicely, except for Amelia–fingers crossed that her book is next, or at least soon! 🙂
