Release Day Review! THE NANNY ARRANGEMENT by Rachel Harris (Country Blues #2)

The Nanny Arrangement
by Rachel Harris

Synopsis:

Soft-spoken and shy Hannah Fisher is determined to make the man she’s loved her entire life finally see her as a woman. With the help of a makeover, a new mission—Operation Find My Happy—and the convenient forced proximity of a tour bus, she vows to win her best friend Deacon’s heart.

Former bad boy and current fiddle player Deacon Latrell has the world at his fingertips: a new gig with a famous band, plus his best friend on tour as his son’s nanny. Life couldn’t get much sweeter. Now if only he could stop imagining kissing the daylights out of his childhood BFF…

With one friend set on pushing the boundaries and the other afraid to rock the boat, one thing’s for certain—their story would make one heck of a country song.

Review:

The Nanny Arrangement is an excellent example of one of my favorite troupes–friends-to-lovers. Hannah and Deacon are absolutely adorable together, whether it’s their very first interaction or their one thousandth. When you add in Deacon’s two-year-old son Max, it’s pretty much sweetness overload.

The two main reasons the two of them haven’t gotten together yet are 1) Hannah’s certainty that Deacon is beyond her reach (kind of annoying, since they started in pretty much the same place) and 2) Deacon’s certainty that he can’t have nice things because in the end everyone lets him down (also kind of annoying, because in ten years Hannah and her family have been there for him, even though his family and ex haven’t been). And yes, some actual, adult conversation between the two of them probably would have cleared everything up–and yet, this book ended up working for me anyway, even though those factors are usually deal breakers. I’m going to give credit to Ms. Harris’s writing and such likable characters that I’m willing to overlook their flaws.

The Nanny Arrangement is the second book in the series (third, if you want to count Tyler and Sherry’s book, Accidentally Married on Purpose, which is actually part of a previous series but clearly connected, as Tyler’s the lead singer of the band) but could be read as a standalone. Certain aspects of the story–things happen for both of the H/hs from the other books here–will have more meaning if you’ve read the other stories, but it’s not necessary if you haven’t yet.

About THE NATURAL HISTORY OF US:

One class assignment. One second chance at love. The school player is all in. Now he needs to win back the sweet commitment girl who’s forever owned his heart.

Justin Carter has a secret. He’s not the total player Fairfield Academy believes him to be. Not really. In fact, he used to be a one-woman guy…and his feelings for her never went away. Too bad he broke her heart three years ago and made sure to ruin any chance she’d ever forgive him.

Peyton Williams is a liar. She pretends to be whole, counting down the days until graduation and helping her parents at the family ranch. But the truth is, she’s done everything she can to get over Justin, and salvation is just around the corner. With graduation one short month away, she’ll soon break free from the painful memories and start her life fresh. Of course, she has to get through working with him on one last assignment first.

For Justin, nothing ever felt as right as being with Peyton, and now that fate’s given him a shot at redemption, he’s determined to make the most of it. And for Peyton…well, Justin Carter has always been her kryptonite.

Excerpt:

Planting my feet on the floor, I grab the assignment packet. I thumb through the long list of group dates, taking note of all the partner-time required (a lot), and a rush of endorphins floods my bloodstream. My heart pounds just like it did when I tagged out Jefferson to win last night’s game, and when a relieved exhale parts my lips, I hear Carlos say, “Uh oh.”

“What?” I ask distractedly.

“You’ve got that psycho look in your eyes.” I raise my eyes and he waves a finger back and forth in front of my face. “The same one you had before we egged Crestmont High last week. You’re planning something.”

Adrenaline bounces my knee. “Maybe I am.”

My hand beats out a rhythm on my thigh as I realize that this is exactly what I’d been waiting for. The answer to the itch under my skin. My extreme restlessness. It’s not a new feeling—if I were honest, it’s been on a low simmer for years. Being with Aly just brought it to a boil. I’ve been numb ever since I lost Peyton, and this… this insane marriage project is my chance to finally make things right.

“Tell Abuelita I’ll be there,” I say, returning my gaze to the back of Peyton’s head. “And that I’ll be bringing a girl even she can’t complain about.” From the corner of my eye, I see him stare at me in confusion. “I’m bringing my wife.”

Carlos’s mouth opens in a mix of shock and doubt and I don’t blame him. I saw Peyton’s reaction, too. But I have three whole weeks between now and then, and a plan taking shape in my mind.

Peyton may think she hates me, but that’s only because she doesn’t know the total truth. Soon, that’ll change—but I can’t rush it. I have to start small. Ease into it. Use these dates and outings to show her how much I’ve changed since I was fifteen and screwed everything up.

But I will do it.

“Mark my words, Carlos,” I say, feeling excited about a girl for the first time in a very long time. But then, that’s because it’s not just any girl; it’s my girl. She just doesn’t know it yet. “I’m gonna be the best damn husband in this entire class.”

He looks at me uncertainly, but that doesn’t faze me. I won’t let it. I know I don’t deserve it. Hell, I never deserved her. But I’m not letting anything stop meNot this time. Thanks to Coach Stasi, I’m going to remind Peyton of all the reasons she fell for me in the first place.

And then I’m going to make her do it again.

Review:

Such a cute story!

It was a bit slow to start–we’re pretty much thrown into the middle of things, three years after Justin and Payton broke up and on the day they’re assigned their final class project for Family and Consumer Sciences, and since we get the bulk of the backstory through the alternating chapters of backstory, it took a loooong time to get to the reasons behind it–but once the story got going I had a hard time putting it down. I really liked both Justin and Peyton (and OMG, why haven’t I read The Fine Art of Pretending yet? I’m going to have to soon–just to get more Justin :)); they probably could have done a hundred or so more pages of stuff and I would have happily kept on reading it.

School, work, sleep–whatever 😉

It did feel like the characters were acting a bit older at times than they probably should have–maybe this would have been better as a New Adult rather than YA?–but then the senior class project and Justin’s big decision wouldn’t have worked for the timeline, and I did like that aspect of it quite a bit. (Plus, given Justin’s family situation, it does make sense that he’s going to behave more adult than he is, thanks to his being left on his own so often.) I’m definitely anxious to see where Ms. Harris is going with the next book in the series–there are quite a few secondary characters in this one that I’d like to get to know better.

The Natural History of Us was the second book in the series, but it worked just fine without having read book 1 first. I didn’t honestly realize it was part of a series until I was almost finished with it, and by then I was just psyched to find out I could visit the characters again later on.

About the book:

When chef Colby Robicheaux returned home to New Orleans to save her family restaurant, the last person she expected to reconnect with was her brother’s best friend and her childhood crush. As tempting as a sugar-coated beignet, Jason is one dish she doesn’t want to taste. Colby is counting down the days till she can leave the place where her distrust of love and commitment originated and go back to Vegas.

Fire captain Jason Landry isn’t looking for love, either. He knows he should focus on finding the perfect mother for his daughter, but when he first sees Colby, all grown up and gorgeous, he can’t help but be drawn to her. And when she suggests a no-strings-attached fling, Jason doesn’t want to say no.

As their relationship grows more intense, Colby finds that Jason isn’t as easy to leave behind as she thought. Could turning up the heat on something real be worth the possibility of getting burned?

About the book:

Show choir teacher Tess Johansson loves three things: music, her job, and sharing that passion with her students. But when a school budget crisis forces funding to be pulled from either the sports or music programs, she finds herself going head to head with Jack, the gorgeous new football coach who broke her heart fifteen years ago.

Jack Marshall wants two things: to be closer to his young daughter and to make his mark as a football coach. Taking the new job, with the promise that he’d have time to build a solid team, gave him both. But now he must win the season with a group of boys who aren’t anywhere near ready or he’ll lose everything he’s worked so hard for. Being pitted against Tess, the summer love he never forgot, is like being fourth and long with only seconds on the clock.

New Release Review! YOU’RE STILL THE ONE by Rachel Harris (Country Blues #1)

You’re Still the One
by Rachel Harris

Synopsis:

Love is one dare neither of them can take…

Arabella Stone, Nashville’s darling, is eager to shuck her prim-and-proper rep, and a few wild months spent checking items off her “ summer bucket list” is the way to do it. First up: kiss the man she’s crushed on since she wore a training bra, the bad boy of country himself, Blue bassist Charlie Tucker.

For Charlie, a beautiful woman flirting with him isn’t out of the norm—but a beautiful woman bolting after the hottest kiss of his life sure is. And when he finds out his kiss-and-run Cinderella is none other than Arabella Stone, daughter of his label’s CEO, he knows he’s in trouble. Because not only is she a Stone, she’s also his employee for the next few months at the recording studio he just bought.

Over the course of one thrilling summer, Arabella and Charlie chip away at her bucket list and fight the simmering attraction between them…knowing that once it’s all over, so is their time together.

Review:

What a fun read! I really liked both Arabella and Charlie, and the two of them trying to check off all the items on Ella’s list that summer made for an entertaining angle. Unfortunately for Ella–but fortunately for us–accomplishing many of those goals had her ending up in a laugh-out-loud situation (for the readers that is…Ella was usually a tad bit embarrassed).

Ella’s had a crush on Charlie since she was an awkward teen in braces, but it’s not until she shows up dressed to kill at an industry party ready to check “Flirt with Charlie Tucker” off of her summer to-do list that he really notices her for the first time as something more than the “Little Bit” he’d met a handful of times at the home of the head of his record label. Laugh-out-loud scene number one prompted this thought from Ella:

They needed to write guidebooks for this sort of thing. The Idiot’s Guide to Flirting With the Man of Your (Literal) Dreams Who Clearly Doesn’t Know You Exist. Bonus material could include how to handle disastrous meet-cutes in the john.

Yep, you read that right. In the men’s room. Poor Ella!

Their relationship develops nicely from there–Charlie manfully tries to resist Ella’s charms as best he can for as long as he can, but he’s no match for the awesomeness of his “sweet girl” who slowly takes over his life and makes it better than he ever thought it could be–but the whole time he’s keeping a pretty big secret from her, and you just know that it’s going to come back and bite him in the butt. Soon.

It does, and it isn’t pretty–add to that the fact that Charlie’s sure that he can’t do relationships and still have a music career (silly, frustrating man!)–and for a while things look pretty bleak indeed. Fortunately Ms. Harris manages to pull out a HEA for them in the end that is highly satisfying and will have readers look forward to seeing Ella and Charlie pop up again in future series books (just so we can squee over how gosh darn cute they are together, of course).

You’re Still the One is the first book in Ms. Harris’s Country Blues series, but it features the hero and heroine from her Accidentally Married on Purpose, Tyler and Sherry; Charlie’s the bass player in Tyler’s band Blue. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the band members (and Ella’s BFF Lana) find HEAs in future series books–there’s obviously something going on between fiddle player Deacon and Hannah, the band’s nanny for their upcoming tour–and can’t wait to see where this series will go next.

About YOU’RE STILL THE ONE:

Love is one dare neither of them can take…

Arabella Stone, Nashville’s darling, is eager to shuck her prim-and-proper rep, and a few wild months spent checking items off her ” summer bucket list” is the way to do it. First up: kiss the man she’s crushed on since she wore a training bra, the bad boy of country himself, Blue bassist Charlie Tucker.

Over the course of one thrilling summer, Arabella and Charlie chip away at her bucket list and fight the simmering attraction between them…knowing that once it’s all over, so is their time together.

Excerpt:

What would Charlie think, if he came in here and saw her like this? Would he approve of the way her body looked? Her small breasts, long legs, decent collarbone, and slightly jiggly behind? Or would he be disappointed?

Would she measure up to the scores of women he’d seen this way over the years?

Arabella’s mind wandered, imagining him suddenly appearing behind her in the mirror. He wouldn’t be shocked. No, he’d be turned on, his eyes molten and hungry, devouring her. He wouldn’t be able to stand still, either; he’d step up behind her and knock her hands away, replacing them confidently with his own.

A moan escaped. It echoed off the glass and the basin, and Ella’s head fell back, envisioning his rough, calloused palms molding her breasts, his fingers plucking the tips. Heat exploded under her skin as she imagined his golden eyes hooded and filled with sin.

“You ready, darlin’?”

Ella’s head snapped up as her heart leaped into her throat.

“Arabella? You about ready to go?”

Charlie’s heavy footsteps clomped down the hall, and in a panic, she slammed the bathroom door shut, her heart pounding in her ears. “Uh…just a minute!”

Those heavy footsteps stopped just outside the door, two seconds away from getting a shocking show, and Ella frantically spun around looking for something—anything—to cover herself with. Her gaze landed on the pink fingertip towel she’d hung near the sink, thick and lush, and far away from its matching larger friends who were stupidly waiting for her in the hallway linen closet. Way to go, Ella!

“H-how did you get in here?”

“Uh, I own the place, remember?” Normally, his low chuckle would’ve twisted her insides into goo, but now it only heightened her awareness of her supreme nakedness. “I’ve got a spare key…not that I needed it,” he added, shifting his feet, “since the front door was wide open. I did knock, though.” He paused for a second before adding, “Sorry to barge in.”

She heard what he didn’t say—that Ella had been barging her happy butt into his side of the duplex all week, assuming that as long as no women were around (which strangely enough, there never were) it wasn’t that big of a deal. And from what she could tell, it hadn’t been; Charlie hadn’t said so much as a peep. Which meant she was being a big fat hypocrite.

A very naked, slightly cold, incredibly freaked-out hypocrite.

Release Day and Giveaway! THE FINE ART OF PRETENDING by Rachel Harris

We are so excited to bring you the Release Day Launch of Rachel Harris’ THE FINE ART OF PRETENDING! THE FINE ART OF PRETENDING is the first book in Rachel’s The Fine Art of Pretending Series published by Spencer Hill Contemporary.

TFAOP RDL Banner

THE FINE ART OF PRETENDING Synopsis:

According to the guys at Fairfield Academy, there are two types of girls: the kind you hook up with, and the kind you’re friends with. Seventeen-year-old Alyssa Reed is the second type. And she hates it. With just one year left to change her rank, she devises a plan to become the first type by homecoming, and she sets her sights on the perfect date—Justin Carter, Fairfield Academy’s biggest hottie and most notorious player.

With 57 days until the dance, Aly launches Operation Sex Appeal and sheds her tomboy image. The only thing left is for Justin actually to notice her. Enter best friend Brandon Taylor, the school’s second biggest hottie, and now Aly’s pretend boyfriend. With his help, elevating from “funny friend” to “tempting vixen” is only a matter of time.

But when everything goes according to plan, the inevitable “break up” leaves their friendship in shambles, and Aly and Brandon with feelings they can’t explain. And the fake couple discovers pretending can sometimes cost you the one thing you never expected to want.

EXCERPT:

An exhale of breath leaves Brandon’s lips, almost like a laugh, and he scoots closer to me on the blanket. I twist my legs under myself, sitting tall as I face him. He cups my chin and tilts it toward him, drowning me in the now dark-green depths of his eyes, the cologne I gave him for his birthday filling my head. It’s woodsy and yummy and I always loved how it smelled on the store testers, but on Brandon, it’s even sexier. My eyes flutter closed, and I inhale again, this time slowly. Goose bumps prickle my arms, and my head gets fuzzy.

Brandon slides his hand down the column of my neck and brings the other up, threading his fingers through the hair at my nape. His breath fans across my cheek, and everything south of my bellybutton squeezes tight.

When his mouth first meets mine, it’s hesitant, questioning. But as I move my lips with his, he quickly grows bolder, coaxing them apart.

Desire, pure and raw, electrifies my veins as his tongue sweeps my mouth. A whimpering sound springs from my chest, and instinctively, I wrap my arms around his neck, tugging him closer. Needing more. My teeth graze his full bottom lip, and I pull it, sucking on it gently.

He moans and knots his fingers in my hair, and a thrill dances down my back.

Brandon is an amazing kisser, just as I knew he would be. I have no control over my body’s reactions. I lose myself in his lips, his tongue, and his strong arms, forgetting time and space and even my surroundings—until Gabi’s snicker brings reality crashing around us, reminding me we have an audience.

And that I’m kissing Brandon.

We break apart, out of breath, and stare into each other’s eyes.

That was unexpected.

New Release Review: ACCIDENTALLY MARRIED ON PURPOSE by Rachel Harris (Love and Games #3)

The last Robicheaux sibling gets a HEA!
Don’t forget to enter the release day giveaway here.

Accidentally Married on Purpose
by Rachel Harris

Blurb:

One ring plus one wild night equals one crazy love…

Sherry Robicheaux loves men. She loves love. And she loves an adventure. So when she meets a mysterious man while working backstage at a country music concert in Vegas, she’s all about what’s happened in Vegas staying there.

Country music superstar Tyler Blue just wants a weekend of anonymity…though there’s something about the spunky waitress with the streaks of purple hair that tempts him like no other. Until the next morning, when they both wake up with fuzzy memories…and rings on their fingers.

Convincing Sherry to maintain the ruse for his public image isn’t the hardest part—it’s reminding himself that their time spent playing husband and wife in her small town of Magnolia Springs can’t last. Tyler’s first love will always be music—and the road is no place for a sweet downhome girl.

Review:

Very cute story!

I’d only read the second book in this series–Seven Day Fiancé-but it’s not necessary to have read the others to enjoy Accidentally Married on Purpose. (Though now I’ve got to read Taste the Heat just to find out what Sherry’s back story with that Ben jerk is. It’ll make it that much better, already knowing the HEA that’s waiting for her in this book.) Sherry’s older siblings and their significant others show up here, so if you have read the rest of the series you’ll appreciate seeing what they’re doing now.

Sherry was such a fun heroine! I loved in the beginning when she didn’t have a clue who Tyler really was–it made for some very funny moments 🙂 It was fantastic that Tyler was able to see her as she really was better than even her family could, by the end. And Tyler–well, who doesn’t love a gorgeous country-singing hero? Especially one who turns down a chance to open for Luke Bryan because his mother gets sick?

Okay, so the reason behind why Tyler had to pretend to be happily married was a bit shaky–but honestly, it’s hard to come up with a really realistic reason for that troupe in contemporary romance. It’s a fun story with great characters, though, so I was more than willing to just go with it.

I should have gotten out of bed and dressed about two hours before I actually did this morning–but I didn’t want to stop reading until I’d seen Tyler and Sherry find their HEA.

Rating: 4 stars / B+

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

About Accidentally Married on Purpose:
One ring plus one wild night equals one crazy love
Sherry Robicheaux loves men. She loves love. And she loves an adventure. So when she meets a mysterious man while working backstage at a country music concert in Vegas, she’s all about what happens in Vegas staying there.

About Her Secret, His Surprise:
Conflict of interest is an understatement…
Since being disowned by her strict father, Cass Stone has spent her adulthood trying to prove him wrong. Her drive has led to more success than her family ever thought she’d achieve, and life is looking great. Not even an incredible and mysterious one night stand that leaves her a single mom can trip her up…until the father of her baby stumbles back into her life, as sexy and unreliable as ever.
Logan Alexander hasn’t forgotten the night he spent with Cass two years ago, but he never expects to end up undercover as her assistant. His job saves lives—like it should have saved his brother—and he can’t afford complications. It’s difficult enough to maintain his cover as a carefree wanderer when he realizes his attraction to Cass hasn’t faded…and then he meets Cass’s daughter.

About Seven Day Fiance:
One bad boy. One good girl. One unforgettable week.
Angelle Prejean is in a pickle. Her family is expecting her to come home with a fiancé—a fiancé who doesn’t exist. Well, he exists, but he definitely has no idea Angelle
told her mama they were engaged.
Tattooed, muscled, and hotter than sin, Cane can reduce Angelle to a hot mess with one look—and leave her heart a mess if she falls for him. But when she ends up winning him at a charity bachelor auction, she knows just how to solve her fiancé problem.

Cane Robicheaux is no one’s prince. He doesn’t do relationships and he doesn’t fall in love. When sweet, sultry-voiced Angelle propositions him, he hopes their little fiancé game can finally get her out of his head. He doesn’t expect her to break through all his barriers. But even as Angelle burrows deeper into his heart, he knows once their seven days are up, so is their ruse.

Book Title: Hometown Love Boxed Set
Authors: Rachel Harris, Ophelia London and Kelley Vitollo

Book Synopsis:

**For a limited time only!**

Three novels that prove love can always be found right at home

There’s nothing quite like the comfort and serenity of returning home again, especially when combined with the sizzle and excitement of finding true love. This limited-edition contemporary romance boxed set from Entangled’s Bliss line features three fun and flirty small-town stories sure to make you laugh, sigh, and smile long after you’ve turned the last page.

Taste the Heat by Rachel Harris: Colby Robicheaux knows her brother’s best friend—delectable fire captain Jason Landry—is off-limits, and anyway, she’s only back home for a short time. Jason’s looking for someone to help him raise his preteen daughter, not a fling; but Colby’s all grown up and tempting as ever.

Playing at Love by Ophelia London: When Tess Johansson’s music program gets pitted against Jack Marshall’s football program in a battle for funding, she knows only one of them can win. Jack might be the summer love she never forgot, but her job means everything to her. Competing against the enemy was never quite this much fun.

Lucky Break by Kelley Vitollo: Sydney Williams might have come home to her small town of Shamrock Falls, but it’ll take more than that to rekindle a broken friendship with her childhood best friend, Kade Mitchell. When friendship turns to sparks turns to more, will Kade be able to convince his best friend to gamble on forever?

Author Bios:

Rachel Harris writes humorous love stories about sassy girls-next-door and the hot guys that make them swoon. Emotion, vibrant settings, and strong families are a staple in each of her books…and kissing. Lots of kissing.

A Cajun cowgirl now living in Houston, she firmly believes life’s problems can be solved with a hot, sugar-coated beignet or a thick slice of king cake, and that screaming at strangers for cheap, plastic beads is acceptable behavior in certain situations. She homeschools her two beautiful girls and watches way too much Food Network with her amazing husband.

An admitted Diet Mountain Dew addict, she gets through each day by laughing at herself, hugging her kids, and losing herself in story. She writes young adult, new adult, and adult romances, and LOVES talking with readers!

Ophelia London:

Ophelia London was born and raised among the redwood trees in beautiful northern California. Once she was fully educated, she decided to settle in Florida, but her car broke down in Texas and she’s lived in Dallas ever since. A cupcake and treadmill aficionado (obviously those things are connected), she spends her time watching art-house movies and impossibly trashy TV, while living vicariously through the characters in the books she writes. Ophelia is the author of ABBY ROAD; the Perfect Kisses series including: PLAYING AT LOVE, SPEAKING OF LOVE, and FALLING FOR HER SOLDIER, and the new adult DEFINITELY, MAYBE IN LOVE.

Kelley Vitollo:

Kelley has been writing for as long as she can remember. She won her first writing contest in third grade for an essay she wrote on, “Tomorrow’s Leaders on the Move”. Like dreams sometimes do, they fell to the background for a while. She married her best friend, worked full time, and started her family. In 2004 Kelley, her husband and their new baby girl made a move from Oregon to Southern California and that’s when everything changed. As a stay-at-home mom for the first time, her passion for writing flared to life again.

Things haven’t been the same since.

With two incredible daughters, an awesome husband and her days spent writing what she loves, Kelley considers herself the luckiest girl in the world. She still resides in sunny Southern California, where she loves spending time with her family and sneaking away to the bookstore with her laptop.

What I’m Reading: A Week in Review as NaNoWriMo Approacheth…. (10-26-13)

We’re getting us some culture! 😉

Mini Moe #2 and I are headed over the border today–to the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake to see Our Betters by W. Somerset Maugham. It’s kind of last minute–a friend had extra tickets. Their website says it’s similar to Downton Abbey, which we’ve both watched and liked…well, MM#2 liked it until she saw the season finale last year. Since then she’s been a little bitter; hopefully nothing like that will happen this afternoon. It’s recommended for ages 14 and up–fingers crossed that I won’t have to spend too much time covering her eyes.

NaNoWriMo begins this Friday! Don’t worry–still plenty of time to panic! (And sign up, if you haven’t yet. Just go here and join the insanity! And then add me as your writing buddy–my NaNo name is beckymmoe.)

On to the books…

This week I finished Hunter’s Moon by Lisa Kessler–loved it and reviewed it here. Lisa stopped by the blog on Friday with an awesome guest post–make sure you check it out if you didn’t already! Next I read Seven Day Fiance by Rachel Harris–very cute! My review is here. I moved on to Last Chance Book Club by Hope Ramsay next; it was the latest read for Harlequin Junkie’s HEA Book Club…this is definitely one series I’m going to be reading more from. Absolutely loving the small town vibe in it. I then moved on to Prevailing Life by Amaris Chapman, a YA paranormal. I’m almost finished–review coming later on this week.

Next on my TBR: Down the Aisle by Christine Bell, Falling for the Marine by Samanthe Beck, and Four Weddings and a Werewolf by Kristin Miller because I love the title. And I’m going to squeeze in Kristan Higgins’s new book, The Perfect Match, if it kills me. Must. Read.

In audio, I finished Emmaso I must be ready for NaNo, right? Right?

Finally, I started Rick Roirdan’s latest in the Heroes of Olympics series, The House of Hades. MM#2 has already finished it, and assures me there won’t be an agonizing cliffhanger ending to this one. She’d better be telling the truth, or she’s grounded for sure.

What are you reading this week? If you’re participating in NaNo, tell us about your novel!
