New Release Review! EMERGENCY ATTRACTION by Samanthe Beck (Love Emergency #3)

Synopsis:

Ten years ago when Shane Maguire chose the Marines as his escape from some trouble of his own making, he only regretted one thing—leaving Sinclair Smith behind. Despite his best intentions, she ended up as the one that got away. Now he’s back, determined to reclaim everything he gave up, including Sinclair.

Sinclair is immune to Shane’s charms. She’s immune to stolen kisses behind the gym. And she’s definitely immune to that maneuver he did in the back seat of his car… Okay, maybe her hormones are susceptible, but she has absolutely no desire to risk anything on the bad boy who broke all his promises.

When a little emergency lands her at his mercy, he offers her a deal she can’t refuse. And this time, she’ll show Shane what it means to be left wanting…

Review:

Second chance romance! Yessssss 🙂

Shane and Sinclair had a totally believable reason for not working out the first time, which definitely helps make the second chance romance troupe work so well here. I also appreciated that neither one of them was truly at fault for what ended up happening with their original relationship, beyond the fact that they were both so young. But when their second chance comes along? Watch out, people, because these two are H-O-T together.

And yep, Shane does know his way around the ol’ romantic grand gesture, I’m happy to report. Total swoon-worthiness. (Samanthe Beck visited my blog to talk about RGGs here. Thanks, Samanthe!) Throw in an epilogue that is just too flippin’ cute for words (“Your mother borrowed something”–LOL), and you’ve got a winner here, folks!

Emergency Attraction is book 3 in the Love Emergency series, and though there are aspects of the story that will have a bit more meaning for people who’ve read the other books–Sinclair is Savannah’s ( Emergency Engagement ) sister, and there’s a slight overlap between books 2 ( Emergency Delivery) and 3–a dramatic scene from 2 plays out in the background early in this story–but if you haven’t read the other books yet, you’ll manage just fine.

I’m not saying you won’t want to read them, mind you… 😉

Samanthe Beck, Author of EMERGENCY ATTRACTION (Love Emergency #3) Talks About Romantic Grand Gestures

Samanthe Beck is back, and she’s quoting one of my most favoritest (that’s for you, Mom. Yep, I was an English teacher!) grand gestures EVER. Read on!

Hello, and huge THANK YOU to Becky for having me back on her blog. As usual, I have nothing helpful to say about quilts, (other than I could easily spend an entire day wrapped in one), so I’m going to stick to books.

I feel like the meet-cute has gotten a lot of attention lately, and I do loves me a good meet-cute, but I’d like to shine the spotlight on the grand gesture…the grovel…the point just before the happy-ever-after, where someone says and/or does just the right thing to win the other person’s heart. When I write, I aim to make the grand gesture the most satisfying moment in the romance. A simple goal, but trust me, it’s not always easy.  If you’re familiar with ‘80’s movies, I’ll show you what I mean.

Ever encountered a story where the grand gesture comes from the wrong character?  No matter how amazing it is, you can’t get behind it because you’re really thinking, “No fair! Why is she rushing after him, when he’s the one who acted like a jerk and pushed her away? He should be chasing after her!” You’ve seen “Pretty in Pink.” You know what I’m talking about.

Same problem if the gesture just isn’t…grand. They’re together. The right character has made the effort and put herself out there. Sort-of. Sometimes it feels like big issues just poofed away in a magical cloud of I-love-you’s, and you’re like, “Um, did she choose him over her disapproving father, or is he basically the guy she turned to now that dad’s incarcerated? “Say Anything”? Amirite?

But when the author gets everything perfect, that grand gesture will deliver all the feels before it melts your heart into a big puddle of “awwwww.” Go watch “When Harry Met Sally.” Okay, I’ll summarize. He runs into the New Year’s Eve party, kisses her senseless, and tells her he loves her. It might have been too pat. Too easy. Another example of a not grand enough gesture, but she calls him on it, and this is what happens:

***

SALLY: I’m sorry Harry, I know it’s New Year’s Eve, I know you’re feeling lonely, but you just can’t show up here, tell me you love me and expect that to make everything alright. It doesn’t work this way.

HARRY: Well how does it work?

SALLY: I don’t know but not this way.

HARRY: Well how about this way. I love that you get cold when it’s seventy one degrees out, I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich, I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you’re looking at me like I’m nuts, I love that after I spend a day with you I can still smell your perfume on my clothes and I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it’s not because I’m lonely, and it’s not because it’s New Years Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of the life to start as soon as possible.

***

Daaayum!

In my latest book, Emergency Attraction, my hero and heroine have both made mistakes with each other in the past. My hero, reformed bad-boy Shane, wants a second chance with the girl that got away, but my heroine, Sinclair, is sticking firm to her “Been there, done that, got the scars to prove it” position. She’s not up for risking her heart on him again. Shane’s in win-her-back mode for most of the story, and he’s got his work cut out for him. His grand gesture has to be BIG!

Does he pull it off? You’ll have to be the judge, but all I’m saying is he’s ready to move heaven and earth—or in Sinclair’s case, bricks and boards—to earn her heart, and he makes sure she knows it.  And if yours melts into a puddle at that scene, hey, I warned you!

Do you know where we can get a copy of EMERGENCY ATTRACTION? I hear it’s a must-read! Maybe we could ask that guy hiding over in personal growth…?

New Release Review! HARD COMPROMISE by Samanthe Beck (Compromise Me #2)

In case you missed it, I had a chat with author Samanthe Beck about her latest book here.

Hard Compromise

by Samanthe Beck

Synopsis:

Laurie Peterson assumes her impulsive one-night stand with sinfully sexy Sheriff Ethan Booker is the biggest surprise of the year…until her bakery burns down while she’s basking in the afterglow. It looks like her dreams are up in smoke, but then Ethan proposes a deal too tempting to resist.

Ethan has no intention of settling for a one-night stand with Laurie. Nor does he want anything to do with the women his wealthy family wants him to meet. Not when he’s waited ten years for his chance to make his move. His deal might have strings—and Laurie may not know the stakes—but nothing will stop this sexy cop from staking a real claim on her body and her heart.

Review:

So, so good!

I loved Booker, and Laurie’s not too bad either. 😉 Together, they’re absolutely awesome!

Everyone but Laurie knew from the get-go that this fake relationship was going to turn into the real thing, but watching her come to that conclusion was a lot of fun. Hot, steamy, awkward-meeting-his-mother kinds of fun. Ms. Beck definitely did not disappoint with this one–I found myself laughing almost as much as I needed to fan myself while reading this one.

The whole I’ll-wait-ten-years-for-you-to-grow-up thing was kind of random–I appreciated the prologue, don’t get me wrong; it did a great job of setting these two up for a future when she wasn’t literal “jailbait”–but why exactly ten years? Sure, she ended up being in a much better place at 26 than she was at 16, but technically anytime after she turned 21 would have been acceptable. He wasn’t that much older than her. (Plus, it kind of reminded me of another dating-you-in-ten-years comment, and though the situations are totally different, who needs that reminder?) Still, the way Booker got them started was cute. Poor Aaron and his Am Ex card.

Hard Compromise takes place concurrently with book one in the series, Compromising Her Position , so it doesn’t really matter which one you read first–they both could work as standalones, but trust me, you’re going to want the whole story so you might as well grab them both.

As well as book three–surely we’re going to get Arden’s (Rafe’s sister) story soon, yes?

A Conversation with Samanthe Beck, Author of HARD COMPROMISE (Compromise Me #2)

conversation

Thanks so much for agreeing to be with us today, Samanthe!

I’m thrilled to be here, Becky! I feel like it’s a good fit, because I love to read too, and while I have never quilted, I sleep under one on pretty much a nightly basis.

LOL! Perfect match, then! 🙂

What 5 things should readers know about you?

  • I like to tell people my husband and I met in a Turkish prison, but the truth is we met in law school.
  • I love wine and chocolate, but if I had to choose one for the rest of my life, I’d choose wine.
  • I’ve lived in Georgia, Puerto Rico, Maryland, New York, and London, but my favorite place is where I live now—by the beach in Malibu, California.
  • I can name all the U.S. Presidents. Well, not the future ones, sadly, but past and current? No problem.
  • Hard Compromise is my…(doing the math…doing the math)…eleventh book! Holy crap, even I can’t believe it.

Eleventh? Awesome, and congrats! (And—Turkish prison = law school; they’re similar, surely?)

Where did the inspiration for this book come from?

My heroine, Laurie Peterson, made an appearance in Compromising Her Position, (Book 1 of the Compromise Me series), and gave her relationship-addict best friend Chelsea some advice about guarding her heart. Ultimately, the advice wasn’t very good, but Laurie honestly believed what she said, and even at the time I was writing the story, I kept thinking I’d love to push Laurie into the path of a guy who would call her on her bullshit, and prove wrong all her cynical beliefs about herself and relationships. Sheriff Ethan Booker turned out to be that man. Boy, did he!

LOL, are you ever right about that! Phew! (Review coming soon, BTW 🙂 )

How long have you been writing, and what (or who) inspired you to start?

I always wanted to write romance, so naturally I became a lawyer. 🙂 After thirteen years grinding away in a career I didn’t love, I’d paid off the student loans, and the second mortgage, and my husband and I decided to start a family. I found someone talented and enthusiastic to replace me at work, and I transitioned into full time mommy and part time aspiring author. (I was clearly a rookie parent because I thought, “Oh, I’ll have plenty of time to write while I’m home taking care of a baby)!

I made my first sale to Entangled Publishing in 2012, and my debut book, Private Practice, released in 2013. That makes my journey sound really fast, but, in truth, I submitted manuscripts for two years before hearing the word “Yes”! (I heard “no” many times, with respect to several submissions that will never see the light of day). I’m living, breathing proof that you should never give up on your dream!

Fantastic! Inspiring, even with all the NOs along the way…(and LOL re: your rookie parent optimism. Yes, SO MUCH TIME. Ha!)

What are you working on right now? What can readers look for from you in the next year?

I’m switching between series right now. Currently I’m working on book 3 of my Love Emergency series, Emergency Attraction. This is Sinclair’s story, for those in the know, and that poor girl is getting hit with the hottest, sexiest most devastating mistake from her past. I can’t wait for you to meet him!

After I finish Emergency Attraction, I’ll be working on the third book in the Compromise Me series. This is Arden’s story. Readers meet her in Compromising Her Position, and get to know her a little bit more in Hard Compromise. I have a hot doc lined up for her, and a whole lot of naughtiness!

They both sound great—can’t wait!

What are you currently reading, and what are your thoughts about it so far?

I just finished Robin Bielman’s Once Upon A Royal Christmas—yep, I let Robin put me in the Christmas spirit early this year—and I absolutely ADORED it.  She delivers everything you want in a holiday story. It’s a sweet, sexy, heartwarming treat, complete with a royal ball and some Christmas magic.

I agree! It was a fun read 🙂

If you had to “sell” your book in a single Tweet, what would you say?

It’s a one-night stand ten years in the making! #toohotforjustonenight

Prefect! Short and sweet…and true!

New Release Review and Giveaway! The LOVE EMERGENCY series by Samanthe Beck (EMERGENCY DELIVERY, EMERGENCY ENGAGEMENT)

Emergency Engagement, Book One

He needs the kind of rescue only she can provide…

Glass artist Savannah Smith expected a marriage proposal for Thanksgiving—just not from her strong, silent, super-hot neighbor. But when misplaced mail and a wayward can of paint lands them in a compromising position right as her family arrives for dinner, they assume he’s “The One” she’s been talking about.

Then his family shows up.

Fate dealt a crippling blow to paramedic Beau Montgomery’s heart, and he isn’t about to put it at risk again. Except, with his mother crying tears of joy over his surprise engagement to the sexy little blonde next door, he can’t bring himself to ruin her “Christmas miracle.”

Somewhere between the paint can to the head and the chaotic family trip to the ER, Beau manages to talk Savannah into being his fake fiancée long enough to survive the holidays.

If, of course, they don’t fall in love first…

Excerpt:

“Our families might expect an occasional display of affection.”

His right palm tingled with the phantom weight of her breast, and his left hand twitched at the memory of cupping her tight, round ass. “I’m sure we can muster up something convincing.”

“I don’t know. You’re blushing pretty hard right now just thinking about it.”

The allegedly logical part of his mind insisted she had a point. “You want a demonstration?”

She tipped her face up, shook her hair back, and he caught a flowery hint of shampoo or perfume, or maybe just her drifting under the antiseptic hospital smell.

“A dress rehearsal might be in order. I don’t mean to criticize, but the last time you kissed me, your technique needed work.”

He had no idea what she was talking about, but he had a strong and unwise desire to trace every curve of her teasing grin with his tongue. See if she tasted as sweet as she smelled. “I think you’re confusing me with someone else, Smith. We’ve never kissed before.”

“My mom’s got a photo that tells a different story.”

Another small step on her part brought her body flush against his. The move produced a swift inhale from her, and then her eyes rounded at the evidence of what he’d mustered up pressing against her stomach. He found both reactions extraordinarily gratifying. She rested her palms on his chest. Having her hands on him also didn’t suck. “Exactly how old was I in this alleged kissing photo?”

Her gaze traveled over his face and came to rest at his mouth. “Fairly young…and fairly naked. We both were. To be honest, if not for the nudity, I’d have a hard time telling us apart.” She licked her lips.

“Well, brace yourself, Savannah. I’m all grown up, and you’ll know which one is me, even with our clothes on.”

Emergency Delivery, Book Two

Madison Foley is determined to stand on her own two feet, no matter how wobbly her circumstances. Fate, however, keeps throwing her off balance, and then sending heroically hot paramedic Hunter Knox to save her.

She’s put men on the back burner until she gets her life on track.

But Hunter’s got other plans.

Decisions. Decisions.

Excerpt:

“Oh, honey, don’t tell me you’re leaving our goodies behind?”

Madison craned her head around and looked at Alyssa. “I don’t want to double-dip. I got them the first time around.”

“Take them. The orderlies will toss whatever you leave behind. There’s even a canvas bag in the third drawer, to carry everything. Hunter, be a doll and—”

“I’m on it.” He walked across the room to the bassinet. When he bent over to dig the bag out of the lowest drawer, the sight of his jeans riding low and tight over his ridiculously toned ass almost made her lightheaded. Behind her, Alyssa mumbled something that sounded a lot like, “Lawd ’a mercy.”

“Huh?” Hunter shot the nurse a quizzical look but didn’t straighten.

“Nothing, sugar. Keep doing what you’re doing. Take your time.”

He rolled his eyes and went back to bagging the diapers, wipes, infant formula, and other freebies furnished by the hospital. She and Alyssa passed the next three minutes in reverent silence as they watched his truly mesmerizing array of muscles bunch and flex under his clothes while he completed the chore.

“Finished.” He straightened, hefted the bag to his shoulder, and turned to face them.

“Those drawers are deep. Maybe you ought to check again?” Alyssa suggested. “Just to be sure you got the job done right?”

Hunter’s slow, cocky grin launched a thousand bad ideas directly into Madison’s no-fly zone. “Ladies, I always get the job done right.”

Review:

Gotta have happy endings. Otherwise, what’s the point?

#1 hero line for the week!

How many romances start with a roadside baby delivery? Samanthe Beck makes this meet-not-quite-cute (more like meet-unbelievably-messy-and-awkward!) totally work!

I loved Hunter and Madison–and baby Joy, of course 🙂 This one was more of a slow burn than your usual Brazen story, but give the girl a break, she’s a brand new mom, so of course things aren’t going to be all hot and heavy right away. Ms. Beck did a great job with that aspect of it–just the right amounts of attraction and angst (and after they worked up to it, to some pretty intense fooling around), and once Madison gets the green light from her doctor, then watch out…well, watch out once Hunter sobers up from an ill-advised night out on the town, anyway.

Had he really spent last night drinking himself into oblivion with four sweaty guys when he could have been home, in this bed, doing things to Madison he’d been fantasizing about for weeks? If that wasn’t a public service message for drinking responsibly, he didn’t know what was.

Oh, Hunter…

A minor blip. His grand gesture is one for the record books! Loved every minute of it 🙂

Now I have to go back and read Emergency EngagementASAP…

“There is nothing personal between us.”

“I beg to differ. In fact, I’m fairly certain I know your deepest, darkest secret.”

“I sincerely doubt that.”

He brought his mouth to her ear. “You knew I wasn’t Paul.”

“No.” The denial, though immediate, sounded slightly breathless, slightly desperate.

She had to have at least suspected, at some point. He refused to believe otherwise. “Not at first. But when I had you clinging to the tables, trembling so hard you could barely stand? You knew.”

“You-you’re delusional. If I’d realized you weren’t Paul, don’t you think I would have stopped you?”

“No. By the time you realized, you didn’t care.” The crowd around them erupted into a countdown.

Ten… He cupped her jaw in one hand…
Nine… and slid the other down her back. Then lower. Eight… “You didn’t care about anything except my tongue tracing the path of your thong”—he let his fingers do the honor now—“all the way down until I could taste your sweet, throbbing little—”

“I thought you were Paul!” Her wide eyes darted to his, pupils huge.

Five… “Remember how you used your body to beg for more? There’s no f-ing way you’ve ever begged like that for Paul Barrington. No f-ing way. I could have you begging again.”

Her breathing came in quick, shallow pants. The hands she’d rested lightly on his shoulders tightened, bunching his jacket in a white-knuckled grip. She shook her head. “Not going to happen.”

Three… He was risking getting his face slapped in the middle of a dance floor on New Year’s Eve, but he didn’t care. For some inexcusable reason, he needed to know she wanted him, not Barrington.

Two… He spread his palm over the perfect curve of her ass and hauled her against him, so she’d feel just how well he remembered every damn detail of their last meeting.

One

“It’s not?” he challenged, and then crushed her lips under his.

Cheers of “Happy New Year” echoed around them over the strains of “Auld Lang Syne.” A flotilla of black and silver balloons sailed down from the ceiling. Guests laughed, and sang, and jostled them while he kissed her. Sparkly, star- shaped confetti rained over everyone and everything, and he kept right on kissing her. Her arms twined around his neck. Her lips parted. She flattened one hand against the back of his head and held on. When he bent her over his arm and swept his tongue into her soft, yielding mouth, she wrapped her leg around his hip. The heat of her body practically seared his thigh through his tuxedo pants.

He trapped her lower lip between his teeth and nibbled. There went his no biting promise, but her shuddery moan told him she didn’t mind.

The song ended. The house lights came up a few notches. He slowly drew her upright, and even more slowly relinquished her mouth. She stared up at him, dazed, her lips plumped from their kiss.

“You’re a terrible liar, Miss Wayne.”

Giving her a grin he hoped didn’t reveal how much the move cost him, he walked away.

Whoa. From the very first page, this one’s a scorcher.

And I may never look at guys in Santa suits the same way again. Good thing my kids are too old to ask to go see him at the mall…

I loved every minute of Compromising Her Position! Chelsea and Rafe were a great couple, and their chemistry was off the charts. So. Much. Steam. It made the entire book not only NSFW, it’s also NSF-dinner with your kids.

But I persevered anyway. Because I’m strong like that. 😉

The reformed playboy is such a tempting troupe, and Rafe played the part to perfection. It was so fun to see him gradually fall for Chelsea despite everything in him resisting the urge. And Chelsea? Seeing her inner bad girl come out of the closet–while actually in the closet–was fantastic. I completely bought into their HEA 100%, and was cheering for them all the way. Loudly.

On top of the “Brazen”-ness of the story, the writing is just so darn funny. Rafe and Chelsea engage in great banter, and there were many laugh-out-loud situations throughout the book. Even the author’s dedication had me snickering, for Pete’s sake.

To Heather, for gently suggesting we not call this Fifty Shade of Santa.

See? It’s official. I will never be able to look that jolly old elf in the eye again.

I can’t wait to see where Ms. Beck is going to take this series next–both Chelsea’s BFF Laurie and Rafe’s sister Arden are totally deserving of their own HEAs… 😉

Review:

OH. MY. GOSH. I absolutely LOVED this book! Julie and Reed are so totally wrong for each other that together they’re absolutely perfect. I loved how they both “got” each other so completely, understanding fundamental truths about each other that even their closest friends didn’t totally understand, even while on the outside each was trying to push the other one away. Although that’s part of why they were pushing each other away, because they really shouldn’t have worked. But holy schmoly, they so did.

Reed’s another one of Ms. Bailey’s “dirty-talking heroes”, and though I haven’t read them all (I know, I know–slacking. Trust me, I’ll remedy it ASAP) he is definitely my favorite. His childhood, quite frankly, totally sucked and he’s thrown his life into his job as a SWAT commander, only getting close to his childhood friends Colton (the groom) and Brock (a groomsman). He doesn’t do romance. He doesn’t even hug. He’s full of scars–visible and not.

Julie seems to be his polar opposite, at first glance. Reed calls her “pixie” for more than half of the book because she’s in constant motion, flitting from one group of people to the next, planning, soothing, and smoothing things over. She’ll be so wrapped up in making sure everything goes as it should and that everyone else has a wonderful time that she’ll forget to eat.

And Reed’s the only one who notices.

But Julie too has hidden depths of hurt, and we can tell from the very beginning of the novel that she’s not even remotely close to as peppy and put together as she seems on the surface.

If her smile felt like it might shatter on occasion, well then she supposed even the ceiling in Barbie’s Dream House sprang a leak now and again.

Katy and Colton’s resort wedding coincides with the anniversary of Julie’s older sister  Serena’s death, a death Julie has felt guilt over for four long years. Her friends have noticed the difference in her, but are unsure of what to do. Her parents out-and-out exploit her feelings of inadequacy (every time she got on the phone with them I could feel my jaw get tight and I felt like growling), and only Reed, who never met Serena, helps her see her relationship with her sibling as it was.

And that part of the book; Reed’s grand gesture? Made. Me. CRY. Seriously. Sooo good.

I’m almost afraid to pick up another book while the glow of this one is still so bright and shiny.

Let me just leave you with these words of wisdom from the groom:

“Don’t leave anything unsaid. Women might say they like mysterious men, but that’s only in the beginning. Soon enough, they start hating the mystery. They want what you’re thinking translated into three different languages.” He took a deep breath. “Tell her what you’re thinking. Doesn’t matter if you think it sounds stupid. Just get it out there. Hell, sometimes it’s even the right thing. And when that happens…” Colton slapped him on the shoulder. “It’s like Christmas morning and Super Bowl Sunday wrapped up in one.”

Best guy talk ever.

This novel can absolutely stand alone, but the glimpses you get of the other stories within this destination wedding are just so tantalizing you won’t want to stop here. I know I’m planning on using the rest of the series as mental bribes (grade this set of papers and I can start the next book. Finish with five portfolios and then read another two chapters. You get the idea.) because honestly, that’s the only way I’m going to get ANY work done this week. And sadly, I do need to get work done this week.

Darn it.

Rating: 4 1/2 stars / A

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Reviews of the rest of the series to come…soon.

What I’m Reading: Week in Review (11-3-13)

My keyboard is on fire this first weekend of NaNoWriMo, I tell you!

Okay, maybe not exactly on fire. Unless when you look to the left of this panel you see a really big number in my NaNo widget. Then you’ll know I had a really productive afternoon here.

I can dream, right?

I tried to get as much reading in as possible before November 1st hit, which explained why I spent most of day one figuring out how to use Aeon Timeline for the first time and remembering how to use Scrivener again.

On the plus side, I found out that both programs offer free trials, so if you’re doing NaNo too (or even if you’re not) you can test drive them this month to see if you like them. Both companies are sponsors of NaNoWriMo and have special offers going on both for winners and participants. (Which sounds much better than “winners and losers”–there are no losers in NaNoWriMo!) Scrivener has even developed a novel template specifically geared toward WriMos, which current users can also download and use. Awesomeness all around.

So…on to the books. I read Down the Aisle by Christine Bell, and really enjoyed it. I’ve already put the first two books in the series on my Kindle, and fully intend to read them both in my spare time. (Does anyone else hear that maniacal laughter, or is that just me?) Next I picked up Falling for the Marine by Samanthe Beck, a series which I had already read book one of. (Ha! Take that, inner mocking voices!) I loved, loved, loved it, and conveniently, the review was posted earlier today. I cannot wait for more from those McCade brothers. Next I read Far Too Tempting by Lauren Blakely, which will be reviewed here tomorrow. Another great read.

And…yikes, that’s it. Next up I’m going to squeeze in a few novellas–Ghosts of the Falls by Sarah Gilman and Libby Bishop’s Ghosts of Kingston Cottage to start with. Then…(ugh! Too much to read! Too little time!) I need to read Lori Wilde’s The Christmas Cookie Collection and Jenn McKinlay’s Read it and Weep. Plus I still really, really want to get to Kristan Higgins’s The Perfect Match, oh, like yesterday. I can totally get this all done, and write, right? Sleeping, eating, schoolwork…optional, surely?

On audio, I haven’t had a lot of reading time–still working my way through Riordan’s latest, The House of Hades.

That’s all I’ve got. What are you reading–or writing–these days?
