New Release Review and Giveaway! TOO WILDE TO TAME by Tonya Burrows (Wilde Security #5)

Too Wilde to Tame
by Tonya Burrows
Wilde Security #5
Publication Date: February 27, 2017
Genres: Adult, Entangled: Ignite, Contemporary, Romance

SYNOPSIS:

For three years, ballet teacher Natalie Taggart has lived across the hall from grumpy, reclusive, sexy Greer Wilde. Save for a handful of hellos and the occasional heated glance, they never spoke to each other.

Until the morning Greer lands on her doorstep, bleeding, beaten, and bullet-riddled.

Greer doesn’t need or want her help. He has only one goal: revenge. And nobody—not his brothers, and certainly not his too-hot-for-his-sanity next-door neighbor—is going to get in his way.

Review:

Such an awesome end to the series! (But not quite to the characters, hopefully…at least two HORNET people are strongly hinted at here as future heroes, so…yay!) It feels like we’ve been waiting forever for Greer’s story; fortunately, it was competent worth the wait!

All of the Wilde brothers are back for this story–eventually; Greer is steins to go it solo for a big chunk of the book, which is frustrating for everyone involved, but Natalie manages to set him straight on that score before it’s too late. The mystery of the Wilde parents’ death finally gets resolved, the brothers and their significant others are all left in an awesome place, and everything is good in the world, especially with Natalie and Greer…who are all kinds of awesome together, from first page to last 🙂

If you haven’t read the others in the series, Ms. Burrows does give you enough here to get caught up, plus there are elements to the final series resolution that are introduced here for the first time, so newbies shouldn’t be totally lost. I feel I should warn you, though, these Wilde brothers are truly something else–you won’t be able to stop with just one. So do yourself a favor, and start with book one ( Wilde Nights in Paradise ) 😉

Release Day Review! RUNNING WILDE by Tonya Burrows (Wilde Security #4)

Running Wilde
by Tonya Burrows

Synopsis:

Lark Warren can never stay one person for too long, so when her past starts to catch up to her, she hops the first bus out of DC, steals a new name, and goes deep into hiding in New Orleans. Unfortunately, all it takes is the wrong set of eyes to blow her cover. Enter Vaughn—the man she once let too close to her real self.

Ex-Navy SEAL Vaughn Wilde has one objective: drive Lark back to DC to face charges for identity theft—which would be easier if he could forget the three lust-filled weeks he shared with her before she disappeared. With each passing mile, he can’t ignore the heat still sparking between them…or the fact he has led her enemies right to her.

Lark can’t stay with Vaughn, not when it will put him in the crosshairs of the dangerous man she’s spent the last five years running from. But Vaughn is determined to keep her safe—even if it means she’ll run off with his heart all over again.

Review:

Oh my gosh, Vaughn Wilde. Just the perfect grumpy, intense, oh-so-so protective yet somehow all squishy on the inside hero… He fell hard for Lark Warren earlier in the series, and when she disappeared and he found out that “Lark Warren” was just one in a long list of aliases she’d used–and that she’d taken his SEAL pin with her when she ran–he’s been determined to find her and drag her back to D.C. ever since.

To be prosecuted for identity theft of course. And to get his pin back. No other reason.

Riiiiight.

Vaughn’s twin Cam (hero of  Wilde for Her) has been worried about his brother–ever since nearly being blown up, which coincidentally happened just before Lark took off–he’s been taking one unnecessary risk after another. Not to mention his unhealthy obsession with finding Lark again. But before Cam can stage an intervention, one of their buddies in the HORNET group spots the woman-formerly-known-as-Lark in a bar in New Orleans, and Vaughn is hot on her trail…

Running Wilde was an intense thrill ride of a book. The guys Lark’s on the run from are truly scary, and Vaughn’s determination to find her, gain her trust, and keep her safe kept me turning the pages. Their chemistry together was off the charts, and their banter–especially when Lark was doing her best to escape his custody and resist his charms, not that he was trying to be charming at the time–was fantastic.

I loved the scenes when it was just the two of them together, but the parts where they were back with Vaughn’s family were great too. I’ve still only read the book before this one in the series (but just downloaded books 1 and 2 onto my iPod–I *will* be ready when Greer’s story comes out!) but still enjoyed seeing the dynamic between the brothers and their significant others. If you’ve read all the previous books, you’ll love seeing them all back together here. Plus, there’s a slight crossover with the HORNET series, which was also so much fun.

And oh, what Vaughn does to save those he cares about in the end? SO. GOOD.

I seriously love this guy.

The only reason I’m going to be able to wait patiently for Greer’s book is because it’ll give me time to get caught up on the rest of the series…but please don’t take too long, Ms. Burrows! 😉

New Release Review! WILDE AT HEART by Tonya Burrows (Wilde Security #3)

Wilde At Heart Banner

Title: Wilde at Heart
Author: Tonya Burrows
Publisher: Entangled Ignite
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Format: Kindle

He has everything under control. Except her.

Reece Wilde put everything in his life on the backburner to protect his brothers and their struggling company, Wilde Security. With a major contract on the line, Reece can’t afford any mistakes…like getting caught in a red-hot, X-rated moment with wild child Shelby Bremer, who’s more trouble than he can handle. Now he’s being blackmailed.

Shelby’s mile-long impulsive streak gets her in more trouble than she’d like to admit. Between her sister’s wedding, her coffee shop set on fire, and getting down and dirty with the groom’s brother, things are definitely coming off the rails. With both their careers and their safety on the line, Reece is determined to keep them both safe…even if it means a Vegas-style shotgun wedding.

But gambling on a wild card—and a wild soul—is risky…and sometimes, it can get a guy killed.

Review:

Gah! This is book three in the series, and though it worked just fine as a “I haven’t read anything from this series yet” book, now it really, really makes me want to read more in the series. Now. But I don’t have time–darn grad school!

It seemed like such a good idea nine months ago. But I digress.

There was an awful lot going on throughout the book–many subplots, two families worth of drama, arson, burglaries, employee theft–it honestly all got to be a bit much at times, and I’m still not entirely sure who was doing what all the time. The “suspense” part may have been a bit overdone here. Fortunately, the hero and heroine pulled the story through for me and made it all worth it in the end.

Loved: Shelby’s nicknames for Reese. Hershey. Skittles. Rolo. Too funny.

Shelby and Reese together, even though they thought they were too different to work. Each needed what the other supplied.

Poe the parrot and Sam the cat. Stole every scene they were in.

The mystery surrounding Vaughn and Greer. They’ll get their books soon, yes?

Not so crazy about: how Eva treats Shelby for about 95% of the book. She pulls it back in the end, but yeah, she was pretty shoddy for the majority of it. Sisters–it’s supposed to mean something. Not that I have sisters, but I am one, so…yeah. Pull your head out of your butt and be sisterly.

Shelby’s secret: she definitely should have told someone about it earlier. Even just the reader–though Reese would have been a good choice too. That drama got frustrating fast.

Overall, though, I enjoyed the book; it was a fast and entertaining read that definitely left me wanting more from the series. I just checked and books one and two ( Wilde Nights in Paradise andWilde for Her are on audio, so I can get to them sooner rather than later. Hello, commute to and from work! 🙂
