New Release Review! THE BOOKWORM CRUSH by Lisa Brown Roberts

The Bookworm Crush cover

Shy bookworm Amy McIntyre is about to compete for the chance to interview her favorite author, who hasn’t spoken to the press in years. The only way to win is to step out of the shadows and into the spotlight, but that level of confidence has never come easy.

The solution? A competition coach. The problem? The best person for the job is the guy she’s secretly crushing on…local surfer celebrity Toff Nichols.

He’s a player. He’s a heartthrob. He makes her forget basic things, like how to breathe. How can she feel any confidence around him?

To her surprise, Toff agrees to help. And he’s an excellent teacher. Amy feels braver—maybe even brave enough to admit her feelings for him. When their late night practices become less about coaching and more about making out, Amy’s newfound confidence wavers.

But does Toff really like her or is this just another lesson?

Review:

Absolutely adorable!

The Bookworm Crush was everything my bookish teen heart would have loved–a shy bookworm heroine who makes bookish references as easily as breathing, a hot hero who thinks the world of her (and even eventually figures it out!), and a fun group of secondary characters to round the story out–so much fun to read!

Bonus: there’s a Harry Potter reference on page one! And a Hunger Games one, and the Gallagher Girls…and that was just on the first two pages. Obviously, this was going to be a fun book.

It was even worth the 3 year wait after The Replacement Crush 🙂 (If you haven’t read that one yet, this one can be read as a standalone. To be honest, I’ve read so many books between then and now that I mostly remembered oh yeah, I liked that one, it was cute with pretty much zero details, so…)

This time it’s our hero Toff who makes the boneheaded moves–more than once–but he makes up for it all in the end. And makes an excellent t-shirt choice, to boot. I may have the very same shirt, as a matter of fact. Which shirt, you ask? You’re going to have to read The Bookworm Crush to find out!
