Drake: A Pittsburgh Titans Novel
Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: January 3, 2023

Drake McGinn turned his back on hockey after the league betrayed him. Will the Titans be his chance to clear his name and take back the career he once loved?

After I made the decision to divorce, my ex-wife set out on a smear campaign against me, telling anyone who would listen that I was betting on hockey and throwing games. It wasn’t surprising that my ex told the lies, but the fact that the media, league, and fans chose to believe her baseless claims was unforgivable. I walked away from it all and never looked back.

Having settled into life as a single dad to three boys, I’m content. I have more money than I could ever need, and plenty of time to do whatever I want, whenever I want, and whoever I want. So when Brienne Norcross, the team owner for the Pittsburgh Titans, shows up at my house with a job offer, I have no problem turning her down. But the no-nonsense billionaire, with sinfully seductive red lips and killer heels that would look hot as hell thrown over my shoulders, won’t take “no” for an answer.

Now I need to find balance between hockey, my boys, and the explosive chemistry Brienne and I can no longer deny. A cast-off hockey player and the league’s only female team owner? I can think of a million reasons why it could never work but can’t bring myself to care about a single one of them. Game on.

DRAKE! Gotta love a single dad romance, amirite? 😉

I’ve long been partial to goalies, so I was more than ready for Drake’s story. I was a bit bummed that we don’t even see his three boys on the page until we’re just past the 50% mark, but since Sawyer Bennett instead gave us lots and lots (and LOTS, lol) of sexytimes between Brianne and Drake instead, it’s hard to get too mad.

Still, though. THREE MINI DRAKES.

Why did Aunt Kiera spell out a$$hole?

LOL, gotta love kids–especially seven-year-olds who are very smart and can spell big words 😉

Brienne and Drake have amazing chemistry, and even though they’re both anti-relationship people it was clear to readers (as well as their friends who were in the know) that they were meant to get over that by the end of the book and find their own HEA, which of course they did. Drake is 100% the cause of their relationship black moment–gah, it was hard to read–and I kind of wanted to see him suffer for it a bit more on the page, but it’s tough to be mad with the way this one ended. All kinds of sweet sexiness there, and that’s not nothing.

One thing I *really* loved about this book is the new relationships that both Brienne and Drake made in the course of the book–Brienne with several of the other women involved with the team, and Drake with his new teammates. The fact that pretty much all of them are past heroines/heroes from series books didn’t hurt either 😉

Drake is the fifth book in the series, but it could absolutely work as a standalone–it’s a new season for the team, and he’s new to the team to himself so it’s not a bad place to start. But honestly, I love this series–you absolutely can’t go wrong with starting from the beginning!

Cannon ‘s book is next, and I can’t wait!
