The Bookworm’s Guide to Dating by Emma Hart is LIVE!

What I wanted for my birthday: Books.

What I got for my birthday: my brother’s best friend playing matchmaker.

Let it be known that I, Kinsley Lane, am one hundred percent against being set up with somebody.

And I’m one thousand percent sure that Josh Carter is not the man to find me a boyfriend.

I mean, if I’m so great, why isn’t he the one dating me? (For the record, I don’t know the answer. That’s just what the guy on the internet asked.)

Still, I’ll humor him. If I go on his little dates, he’ll teach my bookish, introverted self how not to be totally, completely, utterly, unforgivably awkward on every single one of them.

And all I have to do is fall in love with one of the lovely gentlemen he’s serving up for me on a silver platter–all of whom fit my very specific guidelines.

Simple, right?

It would be.

If only I could stop falling for Josh.

Review:

A cute friends-to-lovers, brother’s best friend romance–with a bookish twist!

Kinsley co-owns an indie bookstore (aaaaand just like that, I’ll be reading her co-owners’ books too! 😉 ) and though she has many book boyfriends, IRL she’s not so romantically savvy. So on her birthday, she decides to take her fate into her own hands by downloading several dating apps (one of which will be familiar to readers of Ms Hart’s other books!). But even her online profiles need work–not to mention her real-life dating awkwardness.

Enter Josh, her brother’s best friend and coworker, who has volunteered to “help” her navigate the dating pool.

We know where this is going, right?

No real surprises here, but Emma Hart’s quirky writing and fun characters make this one worth a read. I love friends-to-lovers stories, and brother’s best friend can be fun as well, when done right. Though Colt’s reaction is more than a little OTT (unless your best friend is a total manwhore jerk–or, god forbid, married to someone else–once everyone’s an adult what real argument can you have against them dating your sister?) overall this was a cute read, and I’m looking forward to the next installment!

Rating: 4 stars / B+

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
