Remy, book three in Katy Evan’s Real series, tells Remington Tate’s side of what happened in books one and two, interspersed with the events of Brooke and Remy’s wedding day. It’s a shortened version, though, covering more than 600 pages of previous story–plus the new events–in less than 300 pages. If you haven’t read the other books in the series, this probably isn’t the one to start with; it will leave you with more than a few questions and the story will feel rushed. If you’re already a Brooke and Remy fan, though, chances are excellent that you’ll love seeing the story from a different pair of eyes.

I absolutely loved the scenes with the brand new family–Remy, Brooke, and Racer are just darned adorable–but since the main focus of the present storyline is the day of the wedding, there isn’t nearly enough page time for the three of them together. What is there, though, is very sweet, and definitely gives you a nice picture of what their future will hold.
The wedding day offers the usual wedding day hoopla–frustrated groom who can’t see his bride until the big event, his trip to the church with his best buds, and nervous waiting at the front of the church. Remy performs all of these just as you’d expect him to–without a heck of a lot of patience. 😉 He even resorts to texting Brooke–something his fans know as well as his wife-to-be does that he doesn’t willingly do very often. Their text conversation about Racer’s contribution to his mother’s outfit is highly amusing.
Future books and couples are hinted at–Pete and Nora look like they’re finally getting together, but Melanie brings a new boyfriend to the wedding and Riley’s not a happy camper.
Biggest complaint? The actual wedding ceremony isn’t even in the book–we see Brooke come down the aisle to join her groom, hear her father give her to Remy, watch as the ceremony begins, and then…flashback to another scene from Mine. The next time we visit the present, the ceremony’s over and Remy and Brooke are heading off to their hotel. I’m sure I’m not alone in wanting to have seen that ceremony, right? Especially from his point of view….
Still, if you love the Real series and are a huge Remy fan, chances are excellent you’ll enjoy this book. There isn’t a ton of new information and scenes in it, but seeing it all through Remy’s eyes gives another perspective and gives insight into the depth of his feelings toward Brooke and Racer. The scarcity of a whole lot of new material, however, will probably just serve to whet your appetite for books four and five, though, so be warned….
