New Release Review! CHRISTMAS AT RIVERVIEW INN by Molly O’Keefe (Riverview Inn #4)

Christmas at the Riverview Inn cover

A Christmas promise brings two lost souls together at the magical Riverview Inn.

All the Mitchells have returned to the Riverview Inn for the season of light and love—including Josie, who hasn’t been back for five years. She has thrown herself into her job, trying to forget the mistakes of her past. Trying to convince herself and her family that she’s happy.

And she’s doing okay—until Cameron shows up.

Cameron left the Inn and the only family he has ever known under mysterious and heart-wrenching circumstances seven years ago. Since then, he’s lived a nomadic life, forming attachments to no one and no place.

But the memory of the night Cameron left—and the love they felt for each other—has haunted them both. Can the holiday spirit heal the wounds of the past? Will this Christmas give them a second chance at love?

Review:

Returning to Riverview Inn for the holidays…

I enjoyed Josie and Cameron’s story–it was so fun to return to the inn to find the three children of the series (including Helen) all grown up with angsty issues of their own to deal with. Fortunately (for us, they probably wouldn’t agree ;)) Josie and Cameron’s angst stems from a mutual event–one that led to both of them leaving the Inn and the Mitchell family, him for seven years and her for five. But now Helen has brought them back…

(And GAH, Molly O’Keefe, the not-at-all-subtle hints at the end about Helen’s story. Are you TRYING to kill me, here?)

Though I did spend a lot of this book aggravated with one or both of our main characters–so stubborn! So unwilling/unable to sit down to a real conversation with the people that they really needed to!–at the same time it was a bit hard to blame them for behaving the way that they did. Fortunately, Ms O’Keefe knew exactly what they needed to set things straight–a family holiday with people who loved them both and were willing to work at reconcilliation–and not shy about being pushy about it–and being stranded by a snowstorm. That latter one resolves all relationship ills, amirite? 😉

Now that Cameron and Josie have their HEA, all that is left is to wait oh-so-patiently for Helen’s book.

Is it out yet?

How about now?

Sigh…
