New Release Review! IT’S GETTING SCOT IN HERE by Suzanne Enoch (The Wild Wicked Highlanders #1)

It's Getting Scot in Here cover

The first in a wickedly seductive new Scottish historical romance series from New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Enoch!

Marry or lose their estate; that’s the devil’s bargain he and his brothers must follow. But wild Highlander Niall MacTaggert’s stubborn oldest brother wants nothing to do with marrying the sophisticated, pinky-out Lady Amelia-Rose his mother has chosen for him, even to save their land. Niall’s only goal is to soften up the London socialite, and show his brother the warm beauty behind the shiny, polished front. But what Niall doesn’t expect to find is the woman of his dreams…

Review:

I am so here for Suzanne Enoch‘s new series! Three brothers, dragged down from the Scottish highlands to London to find English brides? Yes, please!

It was next to impossible to put this book down once I’d started reading it. The grumpy highlanders! The socialite who won’t be cowed by society, family, or fiance! The stuffed stairway stag who becomes better dressed as the book goes on! Ms. Enoch gives us a perfect balance of humor and romance in this book–I laughed as much as I swooned while reading.

The characters in this book are truly wonderful. I was firmly staked out in Camp Niall and Amelia from the first time they showed up on the page–they’re easy to root for, and just so good together. Theirs wasn’t the only relationship I enjoyed, though–the three brothers together made me laugh out loud, and add in their long lost sister? Gold! I loved watching them sloooowly begin reconciling with their mother, too–I’m looking forward to seeing their relationship evolve over the rest of the series.

I cannot wait to watch Aden and Coll find their HEAs in future books! I sincerely hope Ms. Enoch has something suitably painful planned for him, especially after all the grief he gave Amelia here. I mean, obviously he wasn’t the guy for her–thank goodness!–but did he have to be so wretchedly miserable all the time? Please tell me he’s going to get his in the end…. *cackles maniacally* (while waiting patiently, of course)
