New Release Review! TILL THERE WAS YOU by Marie Force (Butler, Vermont #4)

Return to Butler, Vermont with Lucas Abbott's story TILL THERE WAS YOU on sale now banner

Being an adult has its advantages…

Lucas Abbott and his identical twin grew up sharing everything—including a reputation for funny, idiotic behavior. But now that Lucas is ready to shed that lovable-idiot image, grow up and have a real, adult relationship, the joke’s on him. He and his twin have fallen for the same woman.

Crushed and hoping a few days on the slopes will work out his frustrations, he heads for Stowe, Vermont. All thought of fun and relaxation flies away as a car spins out in a snowstorm, and his firefighter/paramedic training kicks into high gear.

Danielle Rowson is hoping to pick up the pieces and build a new life for herself and her daughter in Vermont. Winding up in a ditch in the middle of a blizzard isn’t part of the plan—and neither is the kind, sexy rescuer whose strong hands pull them to safety.

Lucas has been a little kid, a big kid and now an adult—and he discovers that adulting has more than one advantage. Especially when it comes to sharing with Dani and Savannah the one thing that’s his and his alone: his love.

Review:

A really sweet romance–exactly as it looks like it will be!

Dani and Lucas seem to be MFEO from the first time they show up on the page together–and it definitely doesn’t hurt that he–a gorgeous and hunky firefighter–is rescuing her and her adorable daughter from the ditch her car slid into in a snow storm. She’s got baggage, though–her fiance was killed before their daughter was born, and she’s not sure when or if she’ll ever be ready for another relationship.

Like the only other book I’ve read in this series, this book is a sweet and romantic read, but it doesn’t have a ton of conflict built into it. Lucas has a minor issue at the beginning of the book, but he gets over it almost as soon as he meets Dani, and his deciding to finally “grow up” ends up being as easy as just making the decision. Dani has about a half minute of panic wondering if she can really commit to a guy with a dangerous job after losing one fiance already, but some deep breathing gets her over that issue too.

So…

This book is absolutely for those who are fans of the series and the one it’s a spin off of–seeing all of the Abbotts and their cousins showing up over and over again here, all up in each others’ business will definitely be your catnip. If you haven’t read the other books but just like low-key, virtually no-angst reads, then give it a try–yeah, you won’t have a clue who any of those other people are, but Dani didn’t either, so you can learn along with her.

Growing up is overrated...until it comes to falling in love.
