Books on Sale! Barnes and Noble and Amazon Have Scary Stories on Sale

Barnes & Noble is having a Nook Book Sale on scary reads right now–it’s a pretty eclectic mix. There’s a few Stephen King, Joyce Carol Oates, Wendy Corsi Straub, and Heather Graham, among many others. There’s even children’s books (a Berenstein Bears classic and Scaredy Squirrel, one of my favorites), middle grade books (like Ivy and Bean and the Ghost that Had to Go), and YA (Caroline Cooney’s Fatality). All together there’s 117 books–you’re sure to find something. They’re all under $5–many are $.99 and $1.99–so you shouldn’t break the bank too badly, at least. I’m considering picking up the Worst-Case Scenario…

Books on Sale! Kindle Daily Deal is 16 Scandalous Historical Romances from Entangled

All 16 of Entangled’s Scandalous line of historical romances are on sale today for just $.99 each–it’s the Kindle Daily Deal, and it looks like Barnes & Noble is price matching it! You can see the full list here for Amazon and here for Barnes & Noble. I recently read and reviewed A Very Scandalous Holiday, above, and really enjoyed it–especially the World War II-era story “Eight Tiny Flames” by Christa McHugh. Here’s your chance to pick it up–and any or all of its book buddies–for less than a buck each! I know what I’ll be doing this evening…. 😉 [contact-form][contact-field…

Books on Sale! Books Made into Movies–Kindle Daily Deal

As part of Kindle’s Daily Deal today, 13 books that have either been made into movies (the much preferred method, IMHO) or that are based on movies (might still be a good read, but a little more risky in my experience) are on sale for $1.99. It looks like Barnes & Noble has finally caught on and is doing some price matching as well. Highlights of the sale: Jurassic Park by Micheal Crichton–LOVED this book. Absolutely LOVED it. I originally read it before the movie came out, and don’t remember now if I knew at the time that a movie was…

Books on Sale: Meg Cabot’s Size 12 is Not Fat (Heather Wells mystery series #1) is the B&N Spotlight Book!

Meg Cabot has been one of my favorite authors for years now, and I really enjoy her Heather Wells romantic mysteries series. After Mini Moe#2 finished Cabot’s YA books and series, the Heather Wells books were next up for her, and she loves them as much as I do, if not more. (I’m reading book five, The Bride Wore Size 12, right now–though MM#2 finished it first, darn her.) Each–month? few weeks? I’m not sure, actually, how long each spotlight lasts, so be sure to get it while you can) Barnes & Noble features an author on their Nook book…

Books on Sale: Another Barnes & Noble Nook Book Sale!

In case you couldn’t make it to the Baltimore Book Festival–or perhaps even if you could–Barnes & Noble is having another big Nook book sale this weekend! Apparently, there’s 300 books on sale altogether for 50% off. Many of them are fairly pricey regularly, so they’re not all super cheap, but there’s some pretty big titles here, including: Dr. Sleep, Stephen King’s latest and the sequel to The Shining, is $7.49      …and in case you missed it, The Shining is on sale too, for $3.99.   Rachel Gibson’s latest, Run to You, just came out on Tuesday, and it’s $3.99.    Mirror, Mirror,…

Books on Sale: TFIOS is the Audible Daily Deal!

John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars is the Audible Daily Deal today, which means you can get the narration of the full-length novel for only $2.95. I can’t say enough good things about Kate Rudd’s narration–really, she did a stellar job. If you haven’t read this one already, it’s a steal at that price. Even though it doesn’t exactly meet my “I really only want to read HEA” criteria, I still gave it 5 stars and an A rating. Plus, it’s due to be made into a movie soon–I’m a sucker for reading the book first. (You’d think I’d…

Books on Sale! Entangled’s Covet Line 99 Cents Today!

In conjunction with their September Scavenger Hunt Blowout (see above), today 18 paranormal romance titles from Entangled’s Covet line are on sale for only 99 cents each as Amazon’s Daily Deal. Barnes and Noble is honoring the price as well. Abby Niles’s The Awakening: Liam and Kendra Leigh Castle’s The Demon’s Desire and thoroughly enjoyed them–they were both book two of their series, so now I can pick up the first in the series (The Awakening: Aidan and The Demon’s Song) as well–on sale! There’s some really fun looking books with Greek god/goddesses in them that I’m definitely going to pick up–Tall, Dark…

Books on Sale! B&N has 50% off Nook Book “Select Romances for Young and Old”

My credit card might self-combust this weekend. Or go into hiding–for my own good (and the good of my bank account) of course. Barnes & Noble is having a “Romance Favorites” sale with more than 200 young adult/new adult books at half off their regular digital price–which is pretty pricey across the board, so their sale prices are good, but not dirt cheap. You’ve been warned. The ones I’ve read, though, are totally worth the cost. I don’t know how long the sale will last (the website says Limited time–shop now! which is not at all specific. Or helpful); perhaps it will…

Books on Sale: Get Ready for Pemberley Digital’s Emma Adaptation with the Kindle Daily Deal!

If you watched last year’s breakout YouTube series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries,  a modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice (and if you haven’t, why the heck not? It’s beyond addicting, and at least now you can watch all 100 episodes back-to-back and not have to wait a painfully long time to see William Darcy, or their first kiss, or….), then you probably know that the next full-length adaptation in the works is Austen’s Emma, to be called Emma Approved. (Twitter handle: @EmmaApproved. On Facebook at Emma Approved.) Today’s Kindle Daily Deal includes more than twenty titles that are “great reads for college students”. Six of the titles are…

Books on Sale: Audible Joins the “Deal of the Day” Fun (because I clearly needed to spend MORE money on books….)

Audible is kicking off their brand new “Deal of the Day” promotion today, offering Life of Pi on audio for just $3.95. Just last night one of my Quilt Night friends said she’d seen the movie and loved it, so this just seems oddly fortuitous, doesn’t it? She hasn’t read the book yet, but a colleague of hers did and said that they were very close. Has anyone else read it and seen the movie? What did you think? In related news, Amazon’s Daily Deal has I am Number Four on sale for $2.99 ( and you can add audio for…
