What’s in a Name?  My given name is Alysia. The house I grew up in sat on a bluff above Lake Michigan, and my parents named me after a sailboat that wandered by. Whenever I share that story, everyone always thinks it’s very romantic. Of course, they didn’t grow up with a name that was always mispronounced and misspelled. Though it’s not deliberate on my part, I suspect my own unusual name is the reason I’m so careful when naming the characters in my stories. (I want more details, more background, more cute romantic interludes–and more Sebastian!)
