This one sounds like so much fun–read all about it, and enter to win!
Thanks so much for agreeing to be with us today!
Thank you for having me here!
What 5 things should readers know about you?
-I’ve been writing since I could put crayon to paper.
-I KNOW any success I have is thanks to my readers and I love them for it!
-I have two gorgeous little girls that are my reason for everything I do.
-My addiction to shoes borders on unhealthy.
-I love to make people laugh and pride myself on doing so with one-liners and quippy comments in my books.
Now, now—can a shoe addiction really be “unhealthy”? I think not! 😉
Tell us all about your main characters—who are they? What makes them tick? Most importantly, what one thing would they need to have with them if stranded on a desert isle? 😉
Aubrey is a romance writer whose best-selling book is being made into a movie. Despite being able to make women everywhere swoon with her books, she is actually quite jaded towards love. A notorious workaholic, on a desert island she would be most likely to bring a notebook and pen for story ideas.
Kole Camden is the direct of her film, the two have a very hard time seeing eye to eye. He has also been unlucky in love, but he can openly admit that sometimes it was because he was flat out a d-bag. He owns and accepts it, because that’s just the way his laid-back nature works. On a desert isle he would probably want a six pack with him.
And then there’s Greyson Meyers … sigh. The Hollywood heartthrob who graces every magazine cover and could have any woman he wants; except for Aubrey. The fact that she repeatedly turns him down only makes Greyson want her more. If stranded he would probably want some protein shakes so he could work-out and stay ripped in his isolation.
LOL—I love their desert island choices! So telling…
Where did the inspiration for this book come from?
The book I wrote before this was Raven, in which I delved into the work and mind of Edgar Allen Poe. Needless to say that was a dark and twisted place to be. When I got done with that I needed a fun, mental health break. I had the idea of a writer falling for the main character of her book and formed the plot from there—not saying that is what happens in the book. 😉 This was meant to be a light-hearted book readers could enjoy by the pool, and I hope they do just that!
Sounds perfect!
How long have you been writing, and what (or who) inspired you to start?
I have been writing since elementary school. It has always been a part of who I am. It’s how I deal, how I escape, and how I relax. But it was my children that inspired me to make a career out of this. I want them to follow their dreams and passion, and the best way I can teach them to do that is by example. With that in mind, I finally pursued my passion to write and haven’t looked back!
That’s the perfect inspiration!
What do you like best about being a writer? What is the most challenging part?
Talking to readers that have enjoyed my books is my favorite part, the most challenging part is make my presence known in a sea of other writers.
Good answers!
What are you working on right now? What can readers look for from you in the next year?
Right now I am working on Steam, book 3 in my Legends Saga. In book one of this thrilling saga I tackled the works of Washington Irving, book—as I said—was Poe, and in book three we will see appearances by HG Wells and Nathaniel Hawthorne. The whole series is dark and twisted fun!
Wow—sounds great!
What authors and/or books have inspired you?
I have favorite mainstream authors, but it is my indie friends that truly inspire me. I see LP Dover, Tara Brown, Cameo Renae, Cambria Hebert and many others finding such amazing success and remaining so humble and helpful to others that they are a true inspiration. I want to be like them when I grow up.
🙂
What are you currently reading? What are your thoughts about it so far?
I just started reading Fairest by Marissa Meyer. I’m only one chapter in, so I don’t have much of an opinion on it yet beyond that the cover is pretty and they picked a great font. LOL! That said, I have read the rest of the book in her Lunar Chronicles Series and loved them so I don’t doubt that will be the case with this one.
Oh! That series is on my (never ending) TBR…
If you had to “sell” this book in a single Tweet, what would you say?
If 30 Rock and When Harry Met Sally had a book baby it would be Adapted for Film. Summer is coming and this is a great pool side read!
Perfect!
Keep reading to find out more about Stacey and her new book!

Aubrey Evans is living every author’s dream; her sizzling romance novel is being turned into a blockbuster film. She would be celebrating this momentous event, if she wasn’t busy fighting over every tiny production detail with the maddeningly cavalier director, Kole Camden.
When news of their heated rivalry hits the gossip columns, drastic measures must be taken to save their sinking project. In an elaborate PR hoax, she is publicly linked to Greyson Meyers, the swoon-worthy star of her movie. A whirl-wind love affair is staged for the couple to mirror the steamy chapters of her own books.
