Thanks so much for agreeing to be with us today, Sarah! What 5 things should readers know about you?
- I write wearing headphones with nothing playing in them
- I switched from being a longtime PC user to a Mac user in three hours
- I live for the happily ever afters
- I read as much as I write
- I never leave home without a notebook
Three hours, huh? I’ve been tempted, but suspect it would take me a lot longer than three hours to adjust…
Tell us all about your main characters—who are they? What makes them tick? Most importantly, what one thing would they need to have with them if stranded on a desert isle? 😉
Arianne is the daughter of the president of one of the two dominant outlaw motorcycle clubs in Montana. She suffered through an abusive childhood as a result of inner strength and resilience. She owns her past and her pain and that makes her attractive to a man like Jagger, who has no time for weakness. On a desert island, Arianne would need her gun.
Jagger is the president of a rival MC, the Sinner’s Tribe. He learned early that leadership is lonely and he can’t afford to let anyone get close. He has no time for weakness and it takes a strong woman to break down his defenses. On a desert island, he would need Arianne.
Awwww…very sweet (Jagger’s choice, that is!) Which gun would Arianne bring, though? 😉
Where did the inspiration for this book come from?
My hubby and I did a motorcycle trip from England to Norway. On the ferry between Harwich and Ebsjerg, we met lots of bikers and their stories gave me the inspiration for Rough Justice.
England to Norway—impressive! Must have been quite a trip.
How long have you been writing, and what (or who) inspired you to start?
I’ve been writing all my life, but I seriously started writing in 2010. I was inspired to start after a near-fatal illness when I decided my one regret would have been not pursuing my dream.
Scary—but I’m glad you were able to turn it into a positive experience!
What do you like best about being a writer? What is the most challenging part?
I like having control over my time and being able to write no matter where I go. Even if I don’t have a pen, I’m mulling over the stories in my head. The most challenging part is meeting the deadlines when life gets in the way. And with three little kids, life is always getting in the way 🙂
Oh, definitely! 🙂
What are you working on right now? What can readers look for from you in the next year?
Right now, I’m doing edits for the second book in the Sinner’s Tribe series, Beyond the Cut, which is the story of Cade and Dawn. That book will be released in June, with the third book in the series coming out in October. I also write an MMA fighter series, Redemption, and the third book in that series will be out in April.
Yay! I was hoping Cade and Dawn would be next.
What authors and/or books have inspired you?
It’s hard to pick just one because I read so extensively. I love Patricia Briggs and Diana Gabaldon for their world building, and Margaret Atwood for her incredible characterization.
Excellent choices!
What are you currently reading? What are your thoughts about it so far?
Right now I’m reading Kristin Ashley’s Deacon and loving it. I like her tough alpha males and how hard they fall for their women.
I’m so behind on my Kristin Ashley books! I need to get caught up…
If you had to “sell” this book in a single Tweet, what would you say?
Sparks fly in this outlaw biker Romeo & Juliet when the daughter of a biker president is kidnapped by a rival gang.
