Welcome, Jamie! What 5 things should readers know about you?
- I write contemporary romance in addition to paranormal romance. My “Club Inferno” series made the USA Today Bestseller list with the first book, Heat.
- I have a miniature pinscher named Romeo who thinks he’s a cat and a Himalayan mix cat who couldn’t give a fig one way or the other.
- I love to travel and like to set stories in places that I’ve been.
- I’m addicted to the candy bar called “Nut Goodie.”
- My books have steamy, sexy love scenes.
(Frantically Googling “Nut Goodie”. Hmmm…doesn’t look too bad. Heck it’s got chocolate and peanuts…that’s a plus right there…
Where did the inspiration for this book come from?
I had a deadline to turn in the third book. ::grin:: Seriously, I liked the idea of a dragon who couldn’t fly (Remy) falling in love with a sky dragon (Margery) and seeing how the two of them could fall in love in the midst of a dangerous investigation. And that’s how The Queen’s Dance came about.
LOL! I like both answers 🙂
How long have you been writing, and what (or who) inspired you to start?
I’ve been writing since I’ve been able to hold a pen. My grandfather inspired me to want to tell stories when he would sit me on his lap and tell me “burglar stories” will illustrating them with a note pad. My elementary school librarian Mrs. Zigmont, however, inspired me to publish by assigning my first non-fiction “novel” on Switzerland a Dewey decimal number and putting me in the card catalog. I drew the pictures of the skiers for the book. And she also put my “magazine” on the shelves to be checked out every month that I did a new one.
That is so totally cool. Your own DDC number? (And now the library school student in me is dying to know if the number was a “correct” one or not…but that would show my weird and slightly obsessive side, so I’m not even going to ask.)
What are you working on right now? What can readers look for from you in the next year?
I’m working on a high heat novella for Entangled’s new line about two handy men who are looking for a handy woman for a threesome. For this year, I’ve got a few more books coming out after The Queen’s Dance. In July and August, book three and four of my New Adult romance series will be released. Truth Thrills is about a new pastry chef who gets involved with the dominating head chef and Truth Decides is about a photographer who has to choose between her new lover or bailing her old lover out of a jam. Then in November, the first book in vigilante romance series will be out. Necessary Evil introduces a former cop turned vigilante going head-to-head and skin-to-skin with a public defender.
Oh my goodness, you’re busy! (And would that new line be the Scorched one? I just read three of their new novellas, and I’ve got to say I’m liking the line so far… ;))
If you had to “sell” your book in a single Tweet, what would you say?

Wonderful excerpt! Please and thank you for this opportunity !!
Oops didn’t finish:/ I would be a healing dragon and I would collect different types of crystals.
That sounds fun!
