Review:
A cute, fluffy read!
Though the story dragged a bit at parts (Jake’s obsessing about his brother’s career and Sophie’s fixation on her research both started to feel overdone) there were some really cute, really memorable parts throughout. The ending in particular, was beyond fantastic.
I loved Sophie’s habit of reciting literary quotes pretty much 24/7, and the way in which Jake ends up using the absolute perfect one to make his grand gesture at the end. Actually, that scene more than makes up for a whole lot of what came before it–I think I’ve re-read that part at least three times already. And showed it to Mini Moe #2, who appreciated it almost as much as her mother did. (I was just super-psyched that she identified it right away–especially since she’s neither read the book nor seen any of the movie versions–yet. Obviously, I am raising that girl right!)
A solid addition to a fun series!
