“Look at me.”
He didn’t like that she’d shut him out, but she did what he’d asked, and he got a good look at the need swirling in her chocolate eyes. It was pure, undeniable desire.
“What do you want?” His voice came out in a gruff whisper, but he needed to hear her say it.
“You. I want you to kiss me.”
With a groan, Kellen pulled her down and kissed her like he never had before. It was without restraint or apology. He poured every ounce of the need he felt for her into that kiss. He didn’t worry about holding back or scaring her because she was right there with him, kissing him back with just as much longing. His other hand gripped her side as she twisted into him, running her fingers through his short hair, trying to find purchase.
Needing her closer, Kellen sat up and pulled her over his lap, so she was straddling him. Blindly, he found the blanket that had fallen down and wrapped it back around her shoulders, never once breaking the kiss.

This was the slow-burn kiss cranked up to oh-my-God levels.
Ali felt Kellen wrap the blanket around them, but she didn’t think she’d ever be cold again.
He’d been holding back before. She’d never been so happy to see someone break the way he just did. Now, she finally knew what all of those dirty romance novels that she’d been reading since she was fifteen were talking about. She’d always read about the type of kiss you felt throughout your entire body. Up until now, she’d always thought it was a bit of an exaggeration, but there wasn’t a crevice or cranny in her entire body that wasn’t on fire right now.
Straddling his lean hips, she pushed her hands inside his coat and gripped his sides. She could feel the tight muscles flex under her palms as he moved, wrapping his arms around her—one hand going to her ass, pulling her in tight, and the other to the back of her neck.
She wasn’t able to stop herself from rocking into him, causing him to growl into her mouth. With a palm on her ass, he urged her to do it again, teasing them both.
“Tell me if this is too much.”
“It’s not enough.”
“Kitten, you can have whatever you want. All you’ve got to do is ask.”
