This is me, today and tomorrow…at least the “Can’t–I’m writing” parts 😉
Though I’ve got a busy day ahead of me (Internet shopping only this year–and a limited amount at that) with crazy word count deficits to make up and the interring of my grandmother’s ashes this morning (she passed away two years ago, but donated her body to a local medical school–we recently got her ashes back and are finally doing that last step), I still wanted to let you all know about some of the ebook deals out there right now.
Give them as gifts or keep a few (or a lot) for yourself!
Author Patricia McLinn’s newsletter has a special edition out today, with six free books!
Almost a Bride by Patricia McLinn is free at multiple sellers (click on link to the left or the cover below):
Wyoming Wildflowers: Indian Paintbrush
Dave Currick was everything Matty Brennan wanted for as along as she could remember. Right up until he broke her heart six years ago. Now that she’s returned to Wyoming for good, what she wants more than anything is to save her family’s ranch. Even if that means swallowing her pride and asking Dave to marry her.
Matty’s up to something – Dave knows that much. Just as he knows that Matty needs help, so of course he’ll provide it, just as he has all her life. Doing what’s best for Matty is second nature. Even when it comes to marrying her in name only. Although he can’t resist one hot-blooded kiss after the I-dos. Maybe – just maybe – his Matty will become more to him than Almost a Bride.

Her Heart for the Asking by Lisa Mondello
Promises made…secrets kept…
Mandy Morgan swore she’d never step foot in Texas again after Beau Gentry left her for life on the rodeo circuit eight years before. He once promised he’d love her forever. But he’d abandoned their love for the rodeo and she hadn’t seen him since. Now she’s back in Texas. Her uncle’s heart is failing and Mandy has to convince him that surgery will save his life. She never dreamed the first thing she’d see when she stepped off the plane would be her biggest nightmare…the one man she’d never stopped loving.
Beau Gentry had the fever for two things: the rodeo and Mandy Morgan. But for Beau, loving Mandy was complicated by his father’s vendetta against her uncle and a promise he’d made to an old friend. Hank Promise, Mandy’s uncle, was more like a father to Beau than his old man had been. The hardest thing Beau had ever done was leave Mandy behind for the rodeo. He can still see the bitterness and hurt on her face. It has killed him all these years to think Mandy had forgotten him…maybe even in the arms of another man. But now they’re both back in Texas, and Beau’s going to do all he can to win back her love.
Once Upon a Ghost by Day Leclaire
Zach Kingston, physics professor and famous ghost debunker, despises con-artists who profit from ghostly scams. And he isn’t about to change his mind just because this scammer’s drop-dead gorgeous and offers the most seductive kisses. Ever.
Rachel Avery is just trying to save her family home. And no nasty, rotten – surprisingly handsome – cynic can change that. If only he weren’t so damn sexy. And if only he didn’t offer the most seductive kisses. Ever.
But they have a deal, witnessed by the media: If Zach can’t scientifically disprove her ghost by Halloween, Rachel wins.
Then Zach meets Rachel’s grandmother and discovers the real reason the Averys are so desperate to sell their story.
To bad his reputation is on the line…
Father Found by Judith Arnold:
Book One of Judith Arnold’s popular Daddy School series.
Jamie McCoy is the ultimate guy: thirty years old, carefree and professionally successful as the writer of a nationally syndicated humor column called “Guy Stuff.” Nine and a half months ago, he spent a week basking on the beach in Eluthera and indulging in a fling with a woman at the resort. Never did he expect to find the unplanned result of that fling—a healthy, wailing baby named Samantha—strapped into a car seat on his back porch, along with a suitcase full of diapers and infant apparel and a note informing Jamie that he’s her father.
Maybe he is and maybe he isn’t. But first things first. He’s never fed a baby or changed a diaper in his life. He doesn’t own a crib or a stroller. In a panic, he phones the nearest hospital, where neonatal nurse Allison Winslow takes his call and tells him about a class she teaches called the Daddy School.
Classes on how to be a dad are exactly what Jamie needs. But when he attends his first class and sees the tall, earnest, amazingly beautiful and even more amazingly competent Allison, he realizes that he might just need more from her than her lectures on how to hold a baby.
Jamie’s efforts to be a father to this precious baby touch Allison. His sense of humor amuses her. His striking good looks turn her on. But how can she trust the sort of guy who’d sleep with a stranger on vacation, without giving a thought to the consequences? How can she give her heart to such a reckless man?
