Grief has brought them together again—will love open the door to their future? When it’s an O’Leary in the picture, finding out is just part of the adventure…

Carmen Delgado is left reeling when her father dies. Taking care of him has been her sole purpose for so long, she’s forgotten what it’s like to have dreams of her own. And with steady, sexy Liam O’Leary inheriting a share in her dad’s successful food truck, Carmen is suddenly free to explore her life’s possibilities. She never expected Liam to provide the kind of temptation she’s not sure she can resist…

A talented chef, Liam O’Leary has been itching to open his own restaurant for years—and the death of his mentor is a reminder that time passes too quickly. Gus’s Taco Taxi isn’t exactly what he dreamed of, but he can’t desert Gus’s daughter. Working side by side is an unexpected pleasure—and grownup Carmen is alluring in all new ways. Is love on the menu—or will old fears and insecurities drive them apart?

Liam wished Carmen would stop touching him. He was a good guy, a respectful man, but she tempted him in ways her younger self only had a glimpse of.

Review:

Just a Taste is an amazingly accurate name for this book. Just about every kind of tasting goes on here–food and otherwise–and is a major part of the plot, not only because Liam and Carmen share ownership of a food truck, but also because of Carmen’s lifelong struggle with food and her body image. I really identified with her there, and seeing her open up and start to appreciate her body while with Liam was wonderful.

Actually, the first 85% of the book was purely delightful–I loved every minute of the push and pull going on between the hero and the heroine. The cause of their conflict, though, wasn’t my favorite (it was one of those that’ll have you yelling “Just talk to each other, already!” at your ereader) and the story ends very abruptly…I would have really liked to have seen a little more page time for Carmen and Liam together at the end. Still, I loved both of these characters and was really happy that they managed to reach their HEA at the end.

(And can’t wait to see them together in Maggie’s book…)

This is the fifth book in the series, and though it could be read as a standalone (somehow I’ve only managed to read every other book? Must. Fix…) families are really important to both the hero and the heroine, and since the rest of the O’Learys are all over this book, you’ll get a fuller appreciation for all of their meddling ( 😉 ) if you’ve read the other books too.
