SO GOOD!
Go With Me
(With Me #2)

New Adult/Contemporary Romance – Recommended for readers 17 and older
I, Daphne Fox, have a few things to confess:
1. I hate Nick Brady. Loathe. Abhor. Can’t stand him 95% of the time.
2. That other 5%? I’m not talking about that at all.
3. People think I’m lucky for surviving the car crash. I disagree.
4. Nick is the only guy who makes my nightmares go away.
5. I won’t love him, though. Love is not worth the pain.
I, Nick Brady, have a few confessions of my own:
1. I don’t hate Daphne Fox. At all.
2. I find her scar sexy. Just like the rest of her.
3. I may be her older brother’s best friend, but that’s not going to stop me.
4. I love her.
5. And I’m going to do everything I can to have her.
Review:
A combination “brother’s best friend” and “enemies to lovers” story–yay!
I really enjoyed Daphne and Nick’s story (though now of course I have to go back and read Hailey and Caleb’s (Stay With Me)–and am dying for Jaime’s (Try With Me) to come out!). It nicely blends of two really fun troupes, and features a eminently likable extended cast of characters–and their quirky pets 🙂
(I love Spartacus the sock-stealing ferret! Not enough fictional characters have ferrets. But I digress…)
Daphne is Caleb’s oldest younger sister and Hailey’s best friend. When she was seventeen, she was the driver in a fatal accident–her boyfriend, best friend, and best friend’s boyfriend were all killed when a drunk driver collided with them head-on. She’s had some hefty physical scars ever since, but the emotional ones are even worse. Heavy with survivor’s guilt, she has lied to everyone close to her and claims that she remembers nothing of the accident even though it has given her panic attacks and nightmares for almost a year and a half now.
Nick has loved Daphne almost as long as he’s known her, though he’s tried to resist out of respect for his best friend, her older brother Caleb. He’s been biding his time for quite a while, but New Year’s Eve has him ready to make a move. He’s very patient with Daphne, willing to take things slow as she comes to terms with the fact that she’s really been lusting after the “Nick fucking Brady” she’s been complaining long and loudly about, but he’s not willing to be her dirty little secret. He wants to tell Caleb–heck, tell the entire world–that they’re an item from the start.
The “I-can’t-tell-my-brother-he’d-freak-out-and-try-to-kill-you” drama does go on a touch long–seriously, everyone else and their brother practically knows, and it’s amazingly unfair to poor Caleb–but Daphne makes nice with her apology. Overall it’s not too far out of the realm of believablility; just aggravating. Nick is amazingly patient–an excellent book boyfriend–though he does eventually reach the end of his rope.
He is, however, very good at apologizing and gift buying. Bonus!
I read this one in a single day, and really enjoyed it. I can’t wait to see what happens next for this cast of characters–bring on Jamie’s story, I’m ready!
