New Release Review: ROUGH JUSTICE by Sarah Castille (Sinner’s Tribe MC #1)

I’m going to have to brush up on my MC lingo before book two, though… 😉

RoughJustice

From bestselling author Sarah Castille comes a scorching new series featuring red-hot, hard-riding bikers and the women who can’t help but love them…

IT TAKES A GOOD, STRONG WOMAN

Raised in a motorcycle gang, tough, beautiful Arianne Hunter has always dreamed of a normal life. But no sooner does she escape her father’s domineering grasp than she wakes up to find herself in a rival gang’s clubhouse—at the mercy of the dangerously sexy Jagger Knight.

TO TAME A MAN WHO’S HELL ON WHEELS.

The alpha leader of the notorious Sinner’s Tribe, Jagger Knight is all muscle, all biker, and all man. But somewhere inside this hard tattooed outlaw, Arianne senses a kindred spirit—and she can’t ignore their tempestuous attraction. Can she beat him at his own game in a revved-up blaze of glory? Or will their passion spark a war that’s the end of the road for them both?

Review:

I went back and forth on this one…depending on where I was in the book, it was either a 3 1/2 or 4 star read. It definitely piqued my interest in the series, though–even before I got to the Beyond the Cut sneak peak at the end!

The interaction between Arianne and Jagger was great. Although their relationship had an insta-love feeling to it, the fact that both of them were such strong personalities gave their back-and-forth conversation a spark that was really entertaining to read.

Jagger squeezed Arianne’s hand. “She’s coming with us tonight. I’ll take her to Sparky’s tomorrow.”

Arianne paused midstep and shook her hand free. “Jag-”

“Shhh.”

Her eyes narrowed. “Did you just shhh me?”

He cupped her jaw with his warm palm and tilted her head back, forcing her to meet his gaze. “This is the part where I’m protecting you, so you’ll put up with bossy.”

Loved it when she got in his bossy biker face. He definitely needed someone who would stand up to him without undermining his credibility, and Arianne’s an expert. And their romance? Definite steam…another plus.

But then there were the parts that dropped it down a half a star or so. Arianne’s ability to delude herself went above and beyond at times. It takes her 20+ years to refer to herself as a biker–really? She was so clearly a part of the culture, whether shewanted to be or not. Her blindness where her brother was concerned was at least more believable, even if it went on longer than it really should have.

Jagger’s choices and motivations didn’t always make a lot of sense to me, which sometimes pulled me out of the story temporarily.

In the end I enjoyed the story–the ending was particularly strong, which helped–and am really looking forward to the second book. Bring on Dawn and Cade; I’m ready!
