Trust the enemy?

Review:
A fairly quick read; I believe this book (first in The Finnegan Connection) is at least loosely connected to another series–a number of characters were briefly mentioned and/or made appearances here who were familiar to both Kody and Nick–but as a series starter it worked just fine as a standalone.
The romance here takes a second seat to the suspense/action plot, which is fine–we get our fill later on, when (we think!) the danger has passed. Or has it? 😉 The setting was intriguing (though a bit over-described at times)–it really made me want to visit the Everglades, though I have to admit doing so at gunpoint would not be my first choice. I was entertained by the story even if not quite drawn into it–some pretty big coincidences, and the plot was a bit thin in parts–still, I’d be interested to see where this series will head next.
