New Release Review and Giveaway! GOOD TIME COWBOY by Maisey Yates (Gold Valley #3)

 Good Time Cowboy cover

In Gold Valley, Oregon, forbidden desire just might turn into the love of a lifetime…

When Lindy Parker lost her cheating husband, she gained a vineyard. She’ll do anything for Grassroots Winery, including teaming up with the hottest devil she knows, rancher Wyatt Dodge. Wyatt is her ex’s friend and has an ego as big as the bulls he rides. But in spite of that, disciplined Lindy has always wanted him…

Lightning struck Wyatt Dodge the first time he saw Lindy Parker. But there were two problems with that: she was married to his friend, and Wyatt doesn’t do strings. But now Lindy is free, and the two of them can finally explore the heat that’s burned between them for so long. But can Lindy make this good time cowboy decide on forever?

For at least two books now (definitely for the other full-size Gold Valley books, IDK for sure about the novellas…they tend to focus more on the main couple, and that’s mostly what I remember about them) I’ve been dying for Wyatt and Lindy’s story. It was clear that there was something there–all that delicious antagonism on her part and snarky cockiness on his had to be going somewhere–and phew, what a place it got to! Good Time Cowboy was pretty much everything I could have hoped for with its angsty, enemies-to-lovers goodness 🙂

As usual with a Maisey Yates book, even though you think you might know a character from the bit parts they play in another story, there’s always so much more to them below the surface. Lindy and Wyatt are absolutely no exceptions to this rule–for them, issues in their pasts have caused both of them to shut others out, believing that anything that needs to be fixed can only be done by themselves alone. Outwardly they come off as totally different–Wyatt’s a “good time” former rodeo star-turned-rancher who doesn’t “do” relationships and Lindy’s a divorcee who’s thrown everything she has into making her business a success–but underneath they both have remarkably similar problems to resolve before they can let each other in. Whether they’re snarking at each other, communicating via email, attempting to have a “no strings” relationship together, or just deep in conversation, I loved every second of these two on the page and can’t wait to get glimpses of them together in future books 🙂

Bring on Grant’s book; I’m ready!

(As usual, Good Time Cowboy should work fine as a standalone–though past characters show up, you don’t have to have read their books to appreciate this one. I make no promises that those glimpses won’t make you want to read their books, though!)
