She pushes all the right buttons for me, and as much as I want her to quit pestering me about Brooks’s estate, I find myself intrigued by the fiery redhead who can’t take no for an answer. And the more I learn about Harlow, the more I find she might be the key to understanding who Brooks really was, and who I want to be.
I’ve got a second shot at a career I thought I’d lost and the opportunity to build something real with Harlow, but can I find strength to move forward or will my past dictate my future?

OMG, this series…
I LOVED Stone and Harlow’s story! There was an absolutely awful, gut-clenching moment in the previous book ( Baden –if you read it, you know…if you didn’t, it’s here again, from Stone’s POV) and I knew I had to have this man’s story ASAP. I am so glad Ms Bennett didn’t make us wait!
Stone’s story is a slow burn, in just about every way–because of how he gets his position on the team, he’s slow to feel like he belongs in the NHL, on this team, or in Pittsburgh. He’s really slow to warm up to Harlow, because of how she comes into his life. Even once they’re friends, we’re at about 75% before they *really* do anything about it, but I am here to tell you, I DIDN’T MIND AT ALL. Honestly, with everything that had been thrown at Stone in the past year, rushing into anything would have felt wrong. And since he and Harlow are obviously meant to be, rushing things wasn’t necessary. Except for those times when it was totally necessary, if you know what I mean 😉
This has got to be my favorite series from Sawyer Bennett yet–it has such depth of emotion, such conflicted characters, absolutely swoony romance, and of course hockey. What more could a girl want? Other than the next book, please… 🙂
