New Release Review! THE COWBOY’S WIFE FOR ONE NIGHT by Molly O’Keefe

The Cowboy's Wife for Just One Night cover

A marriage of convenience just might save them both…

Jack McKibbon knows the score when he offers to marry his best friend Mia Alatore. He’s fixing a bad situation for her—that’s all—they aren’t making a real life together. She wants to stay on the ranch and he’s got his life elsewhere. Still, this arrangement is a good deal for both of them.

Until that one night…

One passionate night with Mia makes Jack rethink their relationship…and their future. But all his plans grind to a halt when she asks for a divorce. Once upon a time, Jack might have agreed. But now that he knows the chemistry they share, he’s not giving up a second chance to be with his wife.

Review:

I never read the original Harlequin version ( His Wife for One Night ) but I can tell you for certain that this reissue contains all of the angsty goodness that is a 2020s Molly O’Keefe book… 😉

The Cowboy’s Wife for One Night is a marriage of convenience/unrequited love/friends-to-lovers story, and I was here for it! Jack and Mia *could* have done a little more talking to each other and spent a little less time in their heads, sure, but TBH after so many years apart I don’t think they quite knew how to do anything else and it actually felt more authentic here than it usually does. And oh, the pining…no one else does pining quite like Ms O’Keefe…though I was more than happy to see them finally stop pining and get together for once and for all, of course!

As much as I loved Jack and Mia (and I did love Jack and Mia!) the secondary story of Jack’s father Walter has me almost as excited. It’s not resolved at the end of this book, so I’m going to have to wait for Lucy’s and Jeremiah’s story (the reissue of Unexpected Family ) to (hopefully!) see him finally find an HEA too…
