flannel shirt cover edition of the holidate disaster by zoe york.

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Zoe York comes another standalone Pine Harbour Christmas novel, the perfect spicy holiday treat for second chance romance fans…

Cassie and Nate broke up eleven months ago. On Christmas Eve! So there’s zero chance that Cassie’s giving Nate a second chance. Not even after an accidental make out session in the supply room of her new shop. The helicopter pilot is too emotionally unavailable for the creative wild child, end of story.

So when her mom invites her ex to Christmas Eve dinner, Cassie has no choice but to invent the fact that she has a date for the holiday…and find a date…and then survive that dinner when Nate brings a date of his own.

Nate, of course, doesn’t want anyone but Cassie. He’s just trying to hold on to the last remnants of his sanity as he watches his wife slip further and further away. This Christmas, he has one last chance to show her he wants more, he wants to be more, for her. He wants to be her everything.

But proving that is easier said than done with Minellis, and dates, around every corner at the Little Tree Farm.

Review:

I’ve been waiting for this one since last year! I was a bit bummed that they ended up being apart for that entire year, but that did allow for *other* things to happen on the sidelines (nope, not spoiling but I still gotta say I TOTALLY KNEW IT!) and of course it gave their reconciliation even more of an impact, so win-win for the end result.

Though that whole we gotta bring other dates to Christmas Eve because my ex is ridiculousness was, well, ridiculous. It was so obvious that neither of them wanted to, and I was pretty ready to smack them both upside the head as they agonized over it separately. FFS people.

Still, the time apart did allow them to figure out what they did wrong and how to do better, leading to an HEA that looks on track to stick this time. And outside events that have me absolutely dying for the next book! But…sigh…I guess I can wait another year. 🙂

I listened to the duet narration, which was very nicely done and always helps to make reading an immersive experience.
