Synopsis:

The last thing Thea Maloney expects the day after her first love, Gerard Wyatt, is executed for a crime he didn’t commit, is a chance to travel to the 22nd Century to a place called the Haunted Hollow. There, time has splintered into hundreds of timelines and a savage ghost war has ravaged the planet. One man stands between what remains of the human race and extinction, a man known only as The General. A man who also happens to be another version of Gerard. Thea’s mission in this haunted place is to solve the riddle of the broken timelines and show the General the power of love before he makes a choice that will doom them all. But how do you convince a man who already thinks you’re the enemy and who’s known only horror his entire life that you’re his soulmate?

Raised in the trenches of the Great Ghost War, the General lives and breathes only one thing. Death. His enclave of ghost hunters and refugees is all that’s left of the human race and he will do anything to reverse humanity’s fate, even if it means rewriting history in a bold gambit to turn back time. What he doesn’t count on is the arrival of Thea Maloney, a woman who makes him feel things he’s never experienced before. He knows he should keep his distance from her, but it gets more difficult with each increasingly sensual encounter. Was she sent to seduce and spy on him, or worse, sabotage the enclave from the inside? Or could she be the one person who can save them all?

Excerpt #2:

They roared down the tunnel towards him with relentless speed, screaming banshees with a kill call that could shatter a man. He had seconds left before he was within the call’s range. No choice but to toss the last anti-ghost grenade and run like hell.

“Fire in the hole!” the General shouted over the comms in his headgear. He yanked a spellbound grenade from his utility belt.

“Copy that,” replied the voice of his XO, Eric Severin.

The banshees hurtled past timber supports and rocky walls, lighting the pitch-black tunnel with their eerie, phosphorescent glow, screaming bloody murder. The General ripped at the grenade’s pin with his teeth and spit it out with the first words of the liberating spell, spoken in the old tongue of the gods. Ashe! Make it so! The markings on the grenade’s metal housing glowed bright. He hurled it at the horde of screeching wraiths. Then he spun around and sprinted for his life.

A second later, the grenade exploded in a shocking burst of bright, white light. It swallowed up the banshees’ deadly call, silencing them forever and setting the souls of the undead trapped within their wraith-like forms free. The concussive blast that followed the ghostly implosion sent the General flying into the tunnel wall…only where he should have slammed into craggy rocks he hit nothing at all and pitched into darkness.

In the deep dark of the old Radley Mine, it would be easy to get separated from the rest of his team sprinting at top speed and already so far ahead of him. One wrong step and you could end up trapped in the mine’s nearly inescapable temporal labyrinth along with an army of angry ghosts. Good thing he knew these tunnels by heart.

The General regained his footing and his path back to his team in short order by utilizing his headgear’s night-vision lens and the built-in mapping and positioning software. It had been six months and he was still getting used to everything his new mechanical eye and ear were capable of. The repo-tech interface with his brain meant spellbound micro-agents based on Twenty-First Century nano technology sent information and analysis to his brain realtime. It finally rendered his damaged right eye and ear useful again. More than useful, in fact. The built-in early warning system had saved his life on more than one occasion and it was going off again now.

The General grinned into the dark. Good. Let the monsters come.
