OMG–SO GOOD!
I *almost* don’t care that it’s not Cowboy’s book. Or that the next book isn’t either (sob!)…at least we got some scenes from his POV and saw more of his family here?
Sebastian and Nora’s story was an edge-of-your-seat adventure with breathtakingly high stakes, both with the little girl they were trying to rescue and with their growing relationship–not to mention the unforgiving Montana weather! This was a hard book to put down while reading, all around.
Both Sebastian and Nora also have complicated pasts–Nora’s (fortunately? Unfortunately? A little of both, I suspect) gets a lot more page time (it’s a doozy, so she does have a lot more to work through)–that could influence their relationship going forward, but I still believe they’ll make it through. I’m not always a fan of the two strangers falling in love while actively in danger and acting on it trope, but here it pretty much worked for me. Did we get to the ILY a little fast? Yes. Did I mind, terribly? Nope.
Nora’s dog chance was hands down the best side character, doggy farts and all. I won’t be at all sad if we see him in future books.
Like Cowboy’s book, for example. Which will come out…two books from now, maybe? 😀
