Synopsis:
USA Today bestselling author Mira Lyn Kelly cranks up the heat for two lifelong friends whose most secret longings come true in every delectable way.

Vivacious and successful, Ava Meyers is living her dream life, except for one thing: Ever since childhood, she’s been in love with her best friend . . . and she’s never admitted it. Back then, Sam Farrow was a damaged young man with a tough past. Now he’s supremely confident, super-sexy, and totally untouchable—until the night when Sam pretends to be Ava’s boyfriend to save her from some unwanted attention. In a moment of weakness, Ava finds out that along friendship is no match for blistering sexual chemistry.

After years of denying his own feelings, Sam finds that one amazing night with Ava isn’t enough to chase away all the pent-up fantasies. So he proposes they spend a few weeks driving each other wild, exhausting their every desire, and then return to their perfect platonic relationship like nothing ever happened. But Sam’s plan has one fatal flaw: the part where they give each
other up. Because the more they let go of their inhibitions, the more they’re tempted to never go back.

Review:

Loved, loved, loved this book! Friends-to-lovers done amazingly well–it was so, so hot and just angsty enough to keep me turning pages long after I should have gotten out of bed and been productive (but really, who has the energy to be productive when it’s -10 degrees out there? Not me. Staying in bed and reading romance is about all I’ve got energy for when record low temps are lurking outside).

Ava and Sam have been best friends forever. I mean reallyforever–we’re talking 20+ years, here. Unfortunately, Ava’s also been in love with him exactly that long…and Sam’s completely clueless.

Clueless, but perhaps not oblivious to the possibilities between the two of them–except that he’s spent a lifetime suppressing those urges, for a variety of reasons that seemed perfectly valid (to him) at the time.

But a surprisingly hot kiss…and a really, really fantastically bad idea…and a lifetime’s worth of fantasies between the two of them that are just begging to be realized just might change his mind.

Or have him running for the hills–one or the other.

Such a good read. Steamy, sexy, fun…yeah, it got a teensy bit frustrating that neither Ava nor Sam was willing to let the other know how they actually felt, but Mira Lyn Kelly made me believe their rationale. Touch & Go worked well as a standalone, but now I’m going to have to go back and read Maggie and Tyler’s story (Truth or Dare )–even though I’m not sure how it could possibly top this one. 😉

Looking forward to more from this series!

Excerpt:

Sam hadn’t moved. His arm remained firm around her middle his big hand closed around her hipbone, and suddenly her heart started to thump. Because she knew what happened the last time she and Sam had gotten this close.

They’d said it wouldn’t happen again, but she could feel his breath in her hair, and one after another, every nerve in her body was coming online, charging up and starting to buzz.

Slowly, she turned, looking back at him over her shoulder.

“Sam?” she asked, but before his name had even made it past her lips, he blinked, and the guy she knew almost better than herself was back.

“Sorry, did I step on your foot?” he asked, looking around them. When she shook her head his mouth streched to one side. “Pretty sure I nailed someone. Shit.”

And then he’d caught her hand and pulled her back into the fray, dancing like they always danced. Like friends without a million question marks in the space between them.
