Pre-Release Review! REBEL YULE by Kate Meader (Rookie Rebels #5.5)

Rebel Yule cover

A holiday entry in the Rookie Rebels series, featuring a player who’s been here from the start . . .

Chicago Rebels goalie Erik gets his shot at love . . . but first he’ll have to figure out what he did to offend the woman he’s crushed on forever.

Casey Higgins, assistant to the Chicago Rebels owner, has a smile for everyone who comes into the front office—everyone but goalie Erik Jorgenson. And he has no idea why. For the last year, she’s refused to give him a kind word, and finally, he’s had enough. At the Rebels holiday party he’ll uncover the root of their mysterious conflict and show this woman that goalkeepers do their best work . . . on their knees.

Can a little Yuletide cheer get Erik into Casey’s good graces, warm bed, and frozen heart? Or will he fumble the puck and lose his chance?

Join the Chicago Rebels this holiday season and find out if Erik is as good at saving Christmas as he is at saving goals!

REBEL YULE is out tomorrow, October 12!

Review:

I loved Erik and Casey’s story!

The tension between the two has been apparent in a few books (she, who is nice to everyone, won’t give him the time of day; he’s apparently baffled) and it was so satisfying to finally find out why and watch them as they moved toward their HEA. (If you haven’t read the other books in the series yet, though, this should work fine as a standalone, too–if you have, you’re going to love seeing all the Rebels as they celebrate the holidays!)

Ms Meader did her homework on this one–the reason behind the conflict is a good one, and one I haven’t seen used in that context before. That, combined with the other character’s personal issues, makes these two a couple I absolutely had to see end up together–otherwise it would have been too heartbreaking to bear. All of the Swedish holiday traditions that Erik shared with Casey added an extra layer of fun–and OMG, that epilogue! <3

The next book in the series ( Jock Wanted ) is heavily hinted at here too–and I am ready for it!
