They say be careful what you wish for …
With her only child away at college, Bridget Adams is ready for less work and more play.
She didn’t expect it to come in the form of Ryan Daily, major league baseballs party boy.
One night rounding the bases with the young pitcher they both get more than they bargained for.
Ryan wants extra innings, will Bridget risk her heart?
Review:
Another wish granted!
If you’ve read More Than a Story by Jenni Bara, you might remember a scene in a Tahoe bar at about the halfway point–if you haven’t read it yet (OMG, you should!) or you don’t remember it that well, no worries–Ryan and Bridget’s story is connected to the Becoming an Evans series, but it still works just fine as a standalone. (But if you do have MTAS handy and you don’t remember the scene in question all that well, a quick search and re-read of that part of the book probably isn’t a bad idea ;))
Bridget and Ryan’s story is an age gap, best friend’s little brother, accidental pregnancy story. Bridget’s one of the co-owners of the bar–a silent partner, for the most part–so in this instance she wrote the wish herself. She made it a super vague one, but it still totally counts–she definitely got “more” than what she started with here!
Since I do read Ms Bara’s books, I’m looking forward to (hopefully!) seeing more of Bridget and Ryan in their HEA, because this story is more of a hearty (and HOT!) snack than a complete meal. It definitely left me with a smile on my face, but I still want more myself 😉
Two more wishes to go!
