The Foul Out
By Jenni Bara
(The Boston Revs Three Outs #3)

A bad play shouldn’t cause a media meltdown but I’m Kyle Bosco and I’m a competitive jerk. So of course I couldn’t just shut up.

Now I must atone for my comments. Somehow that includes working at a daycare with seven year old Piper who thinks I’m her best friend. But Piper is not the one who has me tied up in knots. That job is reserved for Harper Wallace- her mother.

Harper is fierce, combative, and an irresistibly gorgeous single mom.

If hating me were a sport, she’d be MVP. For reasons I can’t tell you, she’s completely off limits so I obviously should stay away.

But hear me out?

I’m a competitive jerk.  I’m not the guy that rides the bench. I’d rather go down swinging and foul out than not play at all.

Review:

Well, we knew from that comment Kyle made in Emerson’s book that he was going to get his comeuppance when his book came around, and OMG did he ever! 😉

Kyle and Harper’s story is just lovely. At first these two don’t seem like they’re ever going to work–he’s such a hotheaded playboy (or is he? ;)) and she’s all but drowning underneath all of her responsibilities and challenges, and it makes her the prickliest of the prickly–but whoa, are they fabulous together in the end <3

But maybe the best part of this book are the kids–Piper and Sam just feel so real, and they’re such an important part of the story as well. I loved that both Harper and Kyle put them first–honestly, it almost made him *too* perfect as a hero. Fortunately, he had one gigantic secret that kept him human 😉

And then there’s that epilogue. I swear I had actual heart eyes while reading it!

As always, this *could* be read as a standalone if you must, but Ms Bara’s characters are always so intertwined in each other’s lives that you’ll really be missing out on all the inside bits and relationships–do yourself a favor and read them all! (Better brush up on The Momcoms too, because some of them make appearances here too–#sorrynotsorry)

The next book is heavily teased here–be on the lookout for Wren/Tom Wilson scenes!–and I will be counting the days!
