Series: Nashville Nights #1
Genre: Contemporary Western Romance
Release Date: May 17, 2016
As Nashville royalty, Chance has big boots to fill—and the pressure that comes with ’em. He fell hard for Jolene, but he couldn’t handle the spotlight, the crowds, and the fights that made headlines and killed any notion that love and success could go hand-in-hand. Still, Chance is more than willing to rekindle the one thing that worked: the wild passion behind their hit songs. Soon they’re making up for lost time, in the steamiest ways possible. But Chance finds himself wishing for the impossible: that their intimate hideaway could last forever.
Review:
I liked both Chance and Jolene and really wanted them to be together–combine that with the fact that it’s a second chance romance, and it was obvious that this book was going to be right up my alley! It was clear from the beginning that the two of them had something good together and just needed to figure out how to stop getting in their own way and just be. Easier said than done when you’re in the spotlight 24/7…
It was a bit disheartening to see the same thing that tore them apart the first time around trying to do a repeat the second, but at the same time it was believable, given their temperaments and the craziness that surrounds fame today. I really liked the way Ms. McCarthy had them work through their own individual issues, though, and got them to their HEA in a way that made sense and makes me believe that this time it can stick. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing more from this series!
