Let’s hear it for older heroines! 🙂
I absolutely loved Lela! The way she takes charge of her life, her business, and her relationships–not to mention her hair–is inspiring. Donovan, on the other hand, is a completely clueless man for 90-ish percent of the book but Ms Booth manages to make his redemption in the end both believable and worthy of the goddess that is Lela.
Fortunately until he makes that leap there’s enough other goodness going on here–Lela’s career, her friendships and business relationships, and of course the confidence that comes along with her embracing her gray (and the rest of her!)–to make up for the fact that the hero is less than romance-hero-heroic for a good chunk of the novel.
This was such a fun read–my first from this author, but definitely not my last! Mature second chance romance FTW!
